Lafayette, La.-based Cardiology Specialists of Acadiana has opened a 10,000-square-foot outpatient heart and vascular surgery center.

The ASC offers diagnostic cardiac catheterizations, peripheral interventions, pacemaker and defibrillator insertions, angiograms and angioplasty. It is also equipped with GE HealthCare technology and staffed by a team with more than 40 years of combined experience, according to a Sept. 22 news release from U.S. Heart & Vascular, a management services organization for the healthcare industry, primarily servicing the South.

The center will expand access to cardiovascular care in southern Louisiana by providing a safe, efficient alternative to hospital-based procedures, according to the release.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
