The center includes a de Vinci Xi robotic surgical system, which includes a 3D high-definition camera and instruments that allow surgeons to make small incisions.
Kurt Wehberg, MD. chief of the Center for Robotic Surgery, told the Cape Gazette that using robotic surgical systems reduces patient pain by using smaller incisions, which leads to lower infection rates and saved costs for hospitals and patients.
