Four details:
1. Boca Raton Regional Hospital is joining Baptist Health South Florida July 1. The organizations signed a formal agreement in late May.
2. Earlier this year, Boca Regional announced a $250 million expansion plan that would include a new patient tower and renovations to its existing tower.
3. South Miami-based Baptist Health South Florida reviewed the plan and suggested instead creating two entirely new towers, as well as new operating rooms and ASCs. The latest proposal is pending city approval.
4. Lincoln Mendez will oversee the expansion as Boca Raton Regional Hospital CEO. He was named successor to Jerry Fedele, who plans to retire in August.
