8 ophthalmic ASC openings in 2019

Here are eight ophthalmology centers opened or announced in 2019:

1. Wilmington (N.C.) Eye plans to open the first and only ophthalmology ASC in eastern North Carolina, near its main practice in 2021.

2. Work is underway on a new 9,650-square-foot ophthalmic ASC in Elizabethtown, Ky., which is expected to be complete in 2020.

3. A new Roanoke Valley Center for Sight location opened in Martinsville, Va., in September.

4. Rochester, N.Y.-based Cornerstone Eye Associates broke ground on an ASC.

5. Acuity Eye Group has opened two eye clinics in the South Bay, Calif., area.

6. Johnson City, N.Y.-based Binghamton ASC wants to open a single-specialty surgery center in Vestal, N.Y., for nearly $34 million.

7. Industry, Calif.-based IQ Laser Vision opened a surgery center in Riverside, Calif., in April.

8. Greenville, S.C.-based Jervey Eye Group opened a new facility for advanced intraocular surgery and eye care services in January.
