Charles Adelmann, MD, serves as the medical director of Merritt Healthcare-managed Surgical Center of Connecticut in Bridgeport. Dr. Adelmann is board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology. He is a partner of Soundview Medical Associates in Norwalk, Conn.

Charlie Agnone, MD, FACS, is a board-certified ophthalmologist serving on the board of directors for the Ambulatory Surgery Center Association. She is also a founding member of the Marysville (Ohio) Surgical Center. Dr. Agnone completed her residency at Ohio State University Hospital.

James Andrews, MD, is a founding member of Andrews Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center in Birmingham, Ala., as well as a founding partner and medical director of the Andrews Institute for Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine and the Andrews Institute ASC in Gulf Breeze, Fla. Dr. Andrews serves as president and chairman of the board of the Andrews Research and Education Foundation at Andrews Institute.

Andrew Archer, DO, is a board-certified general surgeon with The Medical Center at Elizabeth Place in Dayton, Ohio. Richard Areen, MD, is an otolaryngologist at Sutter River City Surgery in Sacramento, Calif. Kerry Assil, MD, is the founder of Assil Eye Institute in Los Angeles, which is professional practice for 90210 Surgery Medical Center. Dr. Assil has trained more than 14,000 physicians in refractive and cataract surgery and has authored more than 100 textbooks, textbook chapters and articles. He has also served on the scientific advisory boards of over 20 ophthalmic manufacturing and pharmaceutical companies. His areas of expertise include LASIK, premium cataract surgery, epi-lasik, laser cataract, photorefractive keratectomy, phakic intraocular lenses and corneal transplantation.

Kenneth Austin, MD, a board-certified orthopedic surgeon, serves as the president of Ramapo Valley Surgical Center in Ramsey, N.J. He completed a knee surgery and sports medicine fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. Dr. Austin specializes in traumatic and sports injuries of the upper and lower extremeties.

Joseph Banno, MD, with the Peoria (Ill.) Urological Associates since 1980, founded the Peoria Day Surgery Center. The board-certified urologist helped create the first mobile ambulatory surgery center and serves as a urology clinical instructor at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago.

John W. Barnard Jr., MD, is a physician-owner of The Surgery Center of Lynchburg. He serves at the Orthopaedic Center of Central Virginia in Lynchburg. Specializing in knee and shoulder surgery, Dr. Barnard is also interested in sports medicine and pediatrics.

James Bee, MD, performs surgeries at Pinnacle III-managed Orthopaedic & Spine Center of Southern Colorado in Colorado Springs, which opened in September 2014. He is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon, specializing in spine. Dr. Bee completed his spine fellowship at Panorama Orthopaedic Clinic in Golden, Colo.

Michael Berend, MD, performs surgeries at Indiana Specialty Surgery Center in Bloomington. Stacey Berner, MD, is the president and a principal of Pismo Beach, Calif.-based SurgCenter Development. He jointed the company in 2012, after practicing hand and upper extremity surgery for 18 years. SurgCenter Development creates physician-owned ASCs. Dr. Berner previously served as the medical director for the Hand Centers at Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster, Md., and Northwest Hospital Center in Randallstown, Md.

Robert Boeglin, MD, serves as Indianapolis-based Midwest Eye Institute's board president. Dr. Boeglin joined the institute in 1991, becoming president in 1997.  He co-founded Health Venture Management, which offers leadership to outpatient surgery center partnerships. HVM manages eight surgery center companies with 13 locations in Indiana.

Robert S. Bray Jr., MD, is the CEO and founding director of DISC Sports & Spine Center in Marina del Ray and Newport Beach, Calif. The board-certified neurological spine surgeon founded the surgery center in 2006, which has expanded to Los Angeles and Orange County locations. Of his 10,000-plus successful surgeries, he has a 95 percent focus on outpatient procedures. Dr. Bray has trained more than 25 fellows.

Thomas Bombardier, MD, FACS, is founding member of Ambulatory Surgical Centers of America in Hanover, Mass. The ophthalmologist previously created two ASCs and founded the largest ophthalmic practice in Western Massachusetts. Dr. Bombardier is also involved in real estate as a developer on Cape Cod, Mass.  

Scott T. Boyd, MD, a pain management physician, serves patients at Omaha Advanced Center for Pain. He is affiliated with Alegent Creighton Lakeside Hospital in Omaha. Dr. Boyd earned his medical degree from University of Nebraska College of Medicine in Omaha. He has practiced for 24 years.

David M. Brown, MD, treats patients at Timberlake Surgery Center in Chesterfield, Mo. Dr. Brown is a physician owner of the surgery center, which is a joint venture with Surgery Partners, previously Symbion Healthcare. An orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Brown specializes in surgery of the hand and upper extremity.

Michael Bukstein, MD, has served as board of director's president of Hannibal-based Northeast Missouri Ambulatory Surgery Center. He is also the president and CEO of Hannibal Clinic, where he's practiced as a general surgeon since 1975, and president of Northeast Missouri Anesthesia Services. He specializes in oncology, carotid and thoracic surgery.

Matthew Bush, MD, serves as Auburn-based Central Maine Orthopaedics' board president. He joined the organization in 2006, which has an ASC where physicians perform minimally invasive arthroscopic knee, hip and shoulder surgery, among other procedures. The board-certified orthopedic surgeon performs hand and upper extremity surgery.  

Charles A. Bush-Joseph, MD, performs orthopedic surgeries at Rush SurgiCenter in Chicago. Dr. Bush-Joseph practices with Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush in Chicago, and specializes in sports medicine, knee, shoulder and hip. He serves as a professor at Rush University Medical Center and the head team physician for the Chicago White Sox.

Robert B. Cameron, MD, serves as the medical director of The Endoscopy Center at Bainbridge in Chagrin Falls, Ohio. He is a part of Gastroenterology Associates, a part of University Hospitals Medical Practices. A clinical professor at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Dr. Cameron specializes in general gastroenterology, colonic neoplasia and esophageal diseases.

Peter Caprise Jr., MD, is a physician-owner of The Surgery Center of Lynchburg and practices at Orthopaedic Center of Central Virginia in Lynchburg. He specializes in shoulder, knee and hip arthroscopy, as well as total joint replacement. Dr. Caprise completed his residency at University of North Carolina Hospitals.

John R. Caruso, MD, FACS, a board-certified neurological surgeon, founded Parkway Surgery Center in Hagerstown, Md. He started practicing with Hagerstown-based Neurological Specialists following his residency at the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque. He is affiliated with the Congress of Neurological Surgeons.

Arthur Christiano, MD, serves as surgical director of Dedham, Mass.-based New England Baptist Outpatient Care Center, which is partnered with Shields Health Care Group. Dr. Christiano oversees surgical operations and maintains the quality and safety of the surgical center. He completed his orthopedic sports medicine fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia.

Richard N. Christie, MD, serves as lead executive vice president of business development for Ambulatory Surgical Centers of America. He was an investor and physician at The Newport Beach (Calif.) Surgery Center, during which he gained valuable knowledge of the ASC industry. A board-certified obstetrician/gynecologist, Dr. Christie previously owned a private practice for 15 years in Newport Beach, Calif.

William J. Ciccone Jr., MD, serves performs surgeries at Pinnacle III-managed The Surgery Center at Lutheran in Wheat Ridge, Colo. Dr. Ciccone specializes in arthroscopic shoulder and knee surgery and practices at CornerStone Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine. He previously served as team physician for the Colorado Rockies AAA team.

Brian Cole, MD, MBA, is a physician owner of Gold Coast Surgicenter in Chicago. Practicing with Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush in Chicago, Dr. Cole specializes in sports medicine, cartilage transplantation, arthroscopy as well as shoulder, elbow and knee surgery. He served as the surgery chairman at Rush Oak Park (Ill.) Hospital since 2011, and is the section head of the Cartilage Research and Restoration Center at Rush University Medical Center.  

Edward F. Coles, MD, FACP, FACG, treats patients at Gastroenterology of San Marcos (Texas), which consists of five partners. He founded and serves as the managing partner of the Central Texas Ambulatory Endoscopy Center in San Marcos. Dr. Coles also serves as a member of the board of directors of the New Braunfels (Texas) Christus and Physicians Surgery Center.

R. Blake Curd, MD, serves as the board of directors chairman for Surgical Management Professionals. He completed a fellowship at the Indiana Hand Center in Indianapolis, which is the largest freestanding center specializing in hand and upper extremity care in the world. Dr. Curd is politically active, traveling to Washington, D.C., six to eight times annually to lobby for better healthcare delivery.

Urfan Dar, MD, is the medical director of San Antonio-based Theda Oaks Surgery Center. Board-certified anesthesiologist Dr. Dar is in private practice and specializes in chronic and cancer pain. He completed his anesthesiology residency at Texas Tech University in Lubbock.

Daniel Daube Jr., MD, FACS, serves as the medical director and a physician owner of Surgical Center for Excellence in Panama City, Fla. The surgery center was established in 2004 by physicians. He is a board-certified plastic surgeon and founded Gulf Coast Facial Plastics and ENT Center in Panama City about 20 years ago.

Fred Davis, MD, co-founded Michigan Pain Consultants with Mark Gostine, MD, in 1984. The clinic grew to several office-based pain management centers and 14 physician pain specialists since its establishment. Dr. Davis also co-founded and serves as president of ProCare, an organization offering physician practices programs to increase productivity and reduce expenses.  

Thomas Deas Jr., MD, board certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine, served as the medical director of Fort Worth (Texas) Endoscopy Center SW Fort Worth Endoscopy Center. He serves on the physician leadership board for Surgical Care Affiliates. He began practicing medicine in Fort Worth after serving in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years. Dr. Deas retired from his GI practice in December 2014. He currently is the director of physician development for North Texas Specialty Physicians.

Ken Deck, MD, serves as a general surgeon at The Surgical Center at Saddleback in Laguna Hills, Calif. He is also on the physician leadership board for Surgical Care Affiliates. Dr. Deck currently serves as the medical director at Alliance Research Centers in Laguna Hills.

Randy Delcore, MD, serves as the medical director and president of Cedar Orthopaedic Surgery Specialty Center in Cedar City, Utah. He opened the center in 2005. Dr. Delcore is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon, who completed his residency at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

Frank Dellacono, MD, serves as an ENT physician at River Valley Ambulatory Surgery Center in Norwich, Conn. Dr. Dellacono started practicing with Ear Nose and Throat Associates of Southeastern Connecticut in 1998. He completed his otolaryngology training at University of Connecticut in Farmington, Conn.

Meena Desai, MD, founded Villanova, Pa.-based Nova Anesthesia Professionals, where she serves as the president, CEO and managing partner. Dr. Desai, a board-certified anesthesiologist, serves as the president of the board of directors for the Society for Ambulatory Anesthesia, for which she serves on the membership, bylaws, development and frontiers lectureship committees.

Ara Deukmedjian, MD, founded the Surgery Center of Viera in Melbourne, Fla. He is also the founder, CEO and medical director of Melbourne-based Deuk Spine Institute. Dr. Deukmedjian performs Deuk Laser Disc Repair, an alterative to spinal fusion surgery.

E. Jeffrey Donner, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon at Loveland (Colo.) Surgery Center. He co-founded Rocky Mountain Associates in Johnstown, Colo., in 1991. Dr. Donner is one of 30 surgeons participating in a clinical trial involving the Maverick Artificial Disc.  

Brad Dresher, MD, a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in foot and ankle surgery, serves at the Pinnacle III-managed Orthopaedic & Spine Center of Southern Colorado in Colorado Springs. He is a team physician for the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs athletic teams.   

Thomas Eickmann, MD, performs orthopedic surgery at Pinnacle III-managed The Surgery Center at Lutheran in White Ridge, Colo. In practice with Cornerstone Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine in Louisville, Colo., Dr. Eickmann is the clinical director for product development for Renovis Surgical.

Bruce B. Ettinger, MD, is on the board of directors for the Ambulatory Surgery Center Association. The board-certified obstetrician/gynecologist serves as a consultant for Ettinger Health Services Consulting, for which he focuses on regulatory and accreditation compliance in health services.

Nader Fahmy, MD, is a board-certified anesthesiologist at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Surgical Center, Center for Ambulatory and Minimally Invasive Surgery and Northern Monmouth Surgical Center. He is a part of Liberty Anesthesia & Pain Management in Freehold, N.J. He completed his residency at St. Luke's Roosevelt Hospital in New York.

Robin Fowler, MD, is the founder of Interventional Management Services, a surgical center management company. He is a member of the American Academy of Pain Medicine, National Pain Foundation, American Pain Society and American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine. He has also served as an advisor for pain management to several private insurance carriers. He has been a leading pain practitioner in the Atlanta area since 2005 and is double board-certified by the American Society of Anesthesia in Anesthesiology and Pain Management. He completed specialty training at Emory University in Atlanta.

James L. Fox Jr., MD, founded and is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon at Ravine Way Surgery Center in Glenview, Ill. The Illinois Bone & Joint Institute and NorthShore University Health System own and provide care at the surgery center. Dr. Fox serves patients at Illinois Bone & Joint Institute in Glenview and Wilmette, Ill. He completed his orthopedic oncology fellowship at Sloan-Kettering Memorial Cancer Center in New York City, and a joint replacement fellowship at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke's Hospital in Chicago.  

Richard Fox, MD, has served as a general surgeon at Pinnacle III-managed Foothill Surgery Center, Alpine Surgical in Boulder, Colo., since 2007. He has been in private practice since 2002 and is affiliated with two local hospitals. Dr. Fox specializes in vascular and thoracic procedures.

Vincent Galan, MD, DABPM, ABIPP, is the medical director of Atlanta-based Pain Care, which includes Pain Care Center of Georgia in Stockbridge and Center for Pain and Spine in Newman. He has held the distinguished position of director of pain management at Southern Regional Medical Center in Riverdale, Ga., since 1990. Dr. Galan is a member of the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, International Spinal Injection Society and American Society of Anesthesiology. His areas of interest in interventional pain medicine include spine-related disorders, sympathetic dystrophies and cancer pain. He completed his pain fellowship at Downstate Medical Center-SUNY in New York.

Ralph A. Gambardella, MD, is president of Kerlan-Jobe Surgery Center. He also serves as chairman and president of Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic, a Cedars-Sinai affiliate, based in Los Angeles. Dr. Gambardella is an orthopedic consultant for the LA Dodgers.

Robert Gannan, MD, PhD, serves patients as an internist in Bellevue, Wash. He speaks internationally about ASC development. Dr. Gannan previously served as a national medical director and chairman of the board of directors of Physicians Endoscopy, and the gastroenterology director at Overlake Hospital Medical Center in Bellevue. He serves on the scientific advisory board for ArtVentive Medical Group.  

Brian Gantwerker, MD, is the president of the Craniospinal Center of Los Angeles in Santa Monica, Calif. Dr. Gantwerker specializes in treating degenerative and traumatic spine diseases, spinal cord and brain injury and brain tumors. He completed his complex spine fellowship at Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix.

Michael Gelinas, MD, serves as an ophthalmologist at Pinnacle III-managed Northwoods Surgery Center in Woodruff, Wis. Before joining Eye Care & Eye Ware Associates, Dr. Gelinas was in private practice in Colorado for six years. He specializes in cataract surgery, laser eye treatment and eyelid procedures.

David S. George, MD, serves as the medical director of George, Strickler and Lazer, The Eye MDs, as well as the Physicians Outpatient Surgery Center in Belpre, Ohio. The board-certified ophthalmologist is on the board of directors for Outpatient Ophthalmic Surgery Society.

Gregory George, MD, PhD, is a founding principal of Pismo Beach, Calif.-based SurgCenter Development, which develops physician-owned ASCs. Dr. George, an ophthalmologist, has helped SurgCenter Development establish 105 successful, physician-owned ASCs. He has a PhD from Durham, N.C.-based Duke University in ocular physiology.

Scott Glaser, MD, DABIPP, is a co-founder and the president of Pain Specialists of Greater Chicago, with various locations in Illinois. Board-certified in pain management, Dr. Glaser has been elected to the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians twice and is a past president of the Illinois Society of Interventional Pain Physicians.

Monte Jay Goldstein, MD, serves as co-founder of Jandee Anesthesiology as well as medical director of Ramapo Valley Surgical Center, both located in Ramsey, N.J. He has served as medical director for more than 10 years. Dr. Goldstein is a certified surveyor for The American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgical Facilities. Dr. Goldstein has devised several techniques that eliminate the side affects of anesthesia such as nausea, malaise and pain.  

Matthew Gornet, MD, is board-certified in spine surgery. Dr. Gornet serves as a member of the governing board at St. Louis Spine and Orthopedic Surgery Center in Town and Country. A leader in the development of dynamic stabilization, disc replacement and non-fusion technology, Dr. Gornet underwent his spine surgery fellowship at John Hopkins Hospital in Bethesda, Md.

Charley Gordon, MD, is the founder of the Texas Joint & Spine Clinic. Specializing in minimally invasive spine surgery, Dr. Gordon is a partner with Precision Spine Care and Texas Spine and Joint Hospital in Tyler. Dr. Gordon is considered a leader in spine research, and is using early generic detection of potential spine and neurological problems. He completed his fellowship in neurosurgery at the Medical College of Virginia.

David Grainger, MD, MPH, is a board-certified in reproductive endocrinology as well as obstetrics and gynecology. Dr. Grainger is on Symbion's Physician Quality Council, which meets to examine benchmark data, analyze common issues as well as share information and best practices. Additionally, Dr. Grainger is a professor in the department of obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Kansas in Wichita and is the director of the division of reproductive endocrinology and holds a joint appointment in the department of preventative medicine at the university.

David Greuner, MD, is a founding partner and medical director of The Centers for Special Surgery of Essex County in Roseland, N.J., a multispecialty ASC. He also is the managing director and co-founder of NYC Surgical Associates. Dr. Greuner is a diplomate of the American Board of Surgery and a fellow of the International College of Surgeons. He is the developer of No-Knife Endovenous Laser Ablation, and previously launched a national public awareness campaign on Lipedema treatment.

Camilo Guzman, MD, practices at Orthopedic Specialists of Southwest Florida. He specializes in anterior hip replacement and total joint revision of failed hip and knee replacement. After finishing his residency at New York-based Albany Medical Center, Dr. Guzman underwent his fellowship at Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopedics in Baltimore. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

Nameer Haider, MD, is a founder of the Minimally Invasive Spine Institute, which has offices throughout New York, Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C. Recently, Dr. Haider opened a new outpatient surgery center, Omni Surgical Center, in South Utica, N.Y. A leader in pain management, Dr. Haider has served as the president of the New York State Society of Interventional Pain Physicians. Dr. Haider is the fellowship training director for Interventional Pain Management at the Minimally Invasive Pain Institute. Dr. Haider is a founder of Heritage Ambulatory Surgery Center Alliance.

John Hajjar, MD, FACS, MBA, serves as the CEO of Sovereign Medical Services, an integrated patient care organization. In 2014, Dr. Hajjar won the EY Entrepreneur of the Year Award in the Health Systems category in New Jersey. Dr. Hajjar founded Sovereign Medical Services, and is known for opening the first surgery center in Fair Lawn, N.J., in 1992. He founded Surgem in 2005, which manages 13 surgery centers throughout New Jersey, New York City and Florida. He has served as medical director of Surgem center SurgiCare Surgical Associates of Fair Lawn (N.J.).

Robert Hartman, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon practicing at Minnesota Valley Surgery Center in Burnsville. He focuses on minimally invasive surgical treatments for shoulder, hip and knee conditions. He has integrated the use of the MAKO Robotic-Assisted technology into his minimally invasive total joint replacement surgeries. He has numerous professional affiliations, including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

Allen H. Hord, MD, serves as CMO of surgical center management company, Interventional Management Services. He has been in medical practice in the Atlanta area for over 25 years and has been in private practice in interventional pain management since 2004. For 10 years, he served as director of the division of pain medicine at Emory University in Atlanta and program director for the fellowship program. He has organized medical missions to Southeast Asia and South America, and coordinated relief efforts in Haiti during the first three weeks after the earthquake. He has served with the management committee of the Neuropathic Pain Special Interest Group of the International Association for the Study of Pain.

Gregory Horner, MD, is the CEO of Hacienda Surgery Center in Pleasanton, Calif.  He serves on ASCA's board of directors. Currently, Dr. Horner practices at Tri-Valley Orthopedic Specialists where he serves on the hand surgery team. He completed upper extremity fellowships at Boston-based Tufts University School of Medicine and New England Bone and Joint Institute, also located in Boston.

Michael Huang, MD, practices at the Orthopaedic & Spine Center of Southern Colorado. Pinnacle III manages the ASC. Specializing in sports medicine, Dr. Huang earned his medical degree from St. Louis-based Washington University School of Medicine. After undergoing his orthopedic surgery residency at Iowa City-based University of Iowa, he completed his sports medicine fellowship at the Steadman-Hawkins Clinic in Vail, Colo.

Richard Hynes, MD, FACS, serves as president of The B.A.C.K Center and is the immediate past president of the Holmes Regional Medical Center Medical Staff. At The B.A.C.K Center, Dr. Hynes also is the medical director. He is the director of TZEDAKA, a not for profit charity that helps low-income patients obtain medical care access. Dr. Hynes is a spine surgeon and diplomate of the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and American Board of Spine Surgeons.  

John Jachimiak, DPM, FACFAS, practices at Boulder (Colo.) Surgery Center, a Pinnacle III-managed facility. A podiatric surgeon, Dr. Jachimiak focuses his practice on sports medicine, biomechanic, pediatrics and wound care. He has participated in several legislative efforts to discuss the services, savings and quality of care ASCs provide patients. Dr. Jachimiak is a diplomat of the American Board of Podiatric Surgery as well as a fellow of the American College of Foot & Ankle Surgeons.

Peter Janes, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon at Vail (Colo.) Summit Orthopaedics. He also practices at Peak One Surgery Center in Frisco, Colo. Pinnacle III manages the surgery center. Five years ago, Dr. Janes and Summit Community Care Clinic created Community Surgery Day to help underinsured residents obtain access to medical care. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at University of Utah Medical School in Salt Lake City.

Michael Janssen, DO, is a spine surgeon who serves as an assistant clinical professor at the University of Colorado in Denver. A fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Dr. Janssen practices at the Center for Spinal Disorders in Denver. Dr. Janssen underwent spine fellowships at Lakewood Orthopaedic Clinic as well as in St. Gallen, Switzerland.

Paul R. Jeffords, MD, served as the co-medical of Resurgens Spine Center in Atlanta. Board-certified in orthopedic surgery, Dr. Jeffords is the section chief of the department of orthopedic surgery at St. Joseph's Hospital in Atlanta. Dr. Jeffords is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He completed his fellowship at Plano-based Texas Back Institute.

Eric Jepson, DO, specializes in joint reconstruction. He performs procedures at The Orthopaedic & Spine Center of Southern Colorado, a Pinnacle III-managed facility. His special interests include the treatment of complex knee and hip problems, revision surgery and procedures for the treatment of arthritis. After completing his orthopedic surgery residency in Garden City-based Michigan State University, he completed his total joint arthroplasty fellowship in Tampa.

Donald R. Johnson II, MD, founded Southeastern Spine Institute and Ambulatory Surgery Center in Mount Pleasant, S.C. In August 2014, Dr. Johnson was elected chairman of the Medical University of South Carolina Board for a four year term. The University of Hong King appointed Dr. Johnson an associate clinical instructor in spine surgery. Dr. Johnson serves as a clinical instructor for the department of orthopedic surgery at The Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. He completed three spine surgery fellowships in 18 months at the South Texas Spinal Clinic in San Antonio, St. Mary's Spine Center in San Francisco and the Spine Surgery University of Hong Kong.

Donald J. Keller, MD, practices at Boulder (Colo.) Eye Surgeons. Dr. Keller is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in cataract, glaucoma, strabismus, Lasik and cornea surgery. Steven Kern, MD, FACS, is the medical board chair of the North Memorial Ambulatory Surgery Center at Maple Grove and chief of surgery at Maple Grove Hospital, both located in Minnesota. M. Ali Khan, MD, founded Texas Pain and Spine Physicians in Round Rock. Previously, Dr. Khan was the medical director of Ochsner's Community Pain Program in New Orleans. Dr. Khan is double-board-certified in anesthesia and pain medicine. After completing his anesthesiology residency at Louisiana State University in Shreveport, he underwent his pain medicine fellowship at the University of Cincinnati.

Nitin Khanna, MD, is a spine surgeon who practices at The Center for Minimally Invasive Surgery in Munster, Ind., an affiliate of Blue Chip Surgical Center Partners. Dr. Khanna underwent his spine fellowship at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Lukes Medical Center in Chicago. Andy Kim, MD, is the medical director of Princeton Anesthesia in New Jersey. Dr. Kim is board-certified in anesthesiology and pediatric anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology. After undergoing an anesthesiology residency at Boston-based Massachusetts General Hospital, he completed his pediatric anesthesiology fellowship at Boston Children's Hospital.

Jonathan Kim, MD, is the director of medical education at Houston Fertility Institute. Dr. Kim also performs procedures at Piney Point Surgery Center & Fertility Laboratory, a Vivere Health-managed facility. He is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology as well as reproductive endocrinology. Lawrence Kim, MD, was the first gastroenterologist to join the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care board of directors in 2004.  Previously, Dr. Kim was the Community Private Practice Councillor for the American Gastroenterological Association. Board-certified in gastroenterology, Dr. Kim practices at South Denver Gastroenterology. He underwent his gastroenterology fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco.

Lawrence Kosinski, MD, MBA, AGAF, FACG, is the Practice Councillor for the American Gastroenterological Association. Previously, he served as chair of the AGA Institute Practice Management and Economics Committee. He is the president of Elgin (Ill.) Gastroenterology Endoscopy Center and a managing partner of the Illinois Gastroenterology Group. Dr. Kosinski also leads the IT Committee at the Illinois Gastroenterology Group. He is board-certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology.

Donald Kramer, MD, MBA, founded Palladium for Surgery-Houston, a subsidiary of Northstar Healthcare. He serves as the chairman and CEO of Northstar Healthcare, an ASC management company. He is board-certified in anesthesiology and pain management. Dr. Kramer is a founding partner of Foundation Surgical Affiliates, which has developed and managed more than 30 surgical centers across the United States.

Richard A. Kube, MD, FACS, FAAOS, CIME, serves as the founder, owner and CEO of Prairie Spine and Pain Institute in Peoria, Ill., and Prairie SurgiCare, an AAAHC-certified surgical facility. He serves on the board of directors for the American Board of Spine Surgery. He also is the treasurer of the organization. He underwent his spine fellowship training at Spine Surgery PSC in Louisville, Ky. He is certified by the American Board of Spine Surgery, American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and American Board of Independent Medical Examiners.

Brent Lambert, MD, FACS, is the principal as well as the founder of Ambulatory Surgical Centers of America, an ASC management company based in Hanover, Mass. Dr. Lambert is responsible for business development at ASCOA. Dr. Lambert founded XONIX, an international medical instrument company. He has published numerous articles on cellular membrane physiology. He is a board-certified ophthalmologist. Before founding ASCOA, Dr. Lambert was the developer and owner of three ASCs, including one of New England's first ASCs.

Barry Landry, MD, FACS, is the president and medical director of Bayou Region Surgery Center in Thibodaux, La., an ASD Management affiliate. In February 2015, Dr. Landry joined the United States Army Medical Reserve as Lt. Colonel. Dr. Landry is a clinical instructor at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans. He is a board-certified general surgeon. Dr. Landry completed his residency at Charity Hospital in New Orleans.
 
Robert F. LaPrade, MD, PhD, is the chief medical officer, deputy director of sports medicine fellowship and director of International Research Scholar Program at the Steadman Philippon Research Institute in Vail, Colo. James J. Lynch, MD, FACS, FAANS, serves as president and chairman of the board of directors at Surgery Center of Reno (Nev.). Dr. Lynch has more than 20 years of experience as a board-certified spinal neurosurgeon. Dr. Lynch is a partner and director of spine services at Regent Surgical Health. Laxmaiah Manchikanti, MD, serves as a clinical professor of anesthesiology and perioperative medicine at the University of Louisville (Ky.). Dr. Manchikanti is the medical director of the Pain Management Centers of Paducah (Ky.), and Marion, Ill., and the Ambulatory Surgery Center in Paducah.  Dr. Manchikanti is the founder, chairman of the board and CEO of the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, Society of Interventional Pain Management Surgery Centers and many state societies of Interventional Pain Physicians. Byran J. Massoud, MD, founded Spine Centers of America. He is board-certified in orthopedic spine surgery. Specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of traumatic orthopedic and spine injuries, Dr. Massoud teaches orthopedic residents and physicians in new minimally invasive surgical procedures including kyphoplasty and endoscopic techniques. Omer Mei-Dan, MD, joined the University of Colorado Hospital in Denver in 2012. Board-certified in orthopedic surgery, Dr. Mei-Dan specializes in hip preservation surgery consisting of hip arthroscopy, cartilage regeneration and acetabulum realignment techniques. Dr. Mei-Dan is a well-known sports athlete, fueling his interest for research in extreme sports.

Andrew J. Michael, MD, founded his practice, Commonwealth Eye Care Associates, in 2000. He is an editor and co-author of the American Academy of Ophthalmology's Basic and Clinical Science Course Glaucoma Text. Specializing in ophthalmic consultation and co-management, glaucoma consultation and surgery and cataract surgery, Dr. Michael is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. Thomas K. Miller, MD, is the section chief of sports medicine at Carilion Clinic in Virginia. He has served as the president and medical director of Roanoke (Va.) Ambulatory Surgery Center, an affiliate of ASD Management. He completed his fellowship at Hughston Sports Medicine Hospital in Columbus, Ga. Dr. Miller is board-certified in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine.

Carol Mitchell-Springer, MD, is the president of Alaska Women's Health and has been in private practice with Alaska's Women's Health since 1993. She specializes in urogynecology and gynecology. She is a partner of Surgery Center of Anchorage. Dr. Mitchell-Springer is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Kenneth K. Moghadam, MD, is the founder and medical director of the Austin (Texas) Fertility Institute. Michael Pham, MD, is an anesthesiologist and medical director of Liberty Ambulatory Surgery Center in Jersey City, N.J. The facility includes three operating rooms and one treatment room. Frank M. Phillips, MD, is a founder, board member and past president of the Society of Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery. He also serves as a professor and director of the section of minimally invasive spine surgery at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. Dr. Phillips specializes in minimally invasive cervical and lumbar reconstructive surgery, and was a principle investigator in FDA trials on cervical disc replacement.

Thomas Pliura, MD, JD, has developed various surgical centers throughout Illinois since opening his first outpatient center in 2000. Dr. Pliura is both a physician and an attorney-at-law with the company, zChart, which he founded. Based in Leroy, Ill., zChart is an electronic medical records-related company. Dr. Pliura is an emergency room physician with more than 25 years of experience in healthcare. Dr. Pliura attended law school the University of Illinois College of Law in Champaign.

Michael Port, MD, is the medical director for DISC Sports & Spine Center, in Marina del Rey, Calif. Dr. Port helped launch DISC with founder Robert S. Bray Jr., MD. Dr. Port is a board-certified anesthesiologist and pain management physician. Paul Protomastro, MD, is an orthopedic hand surgeon with Surgical Care Affiliates' Norwalk (Conn.) Surgery Center. John V. Prunskis, MD, FIPP, is the founder and co-medical director of Illinois Pain Institute, which has seven locations in the Chicago area. He also serves as the medical director of the Barrington Pain and Spine Institute, the only state-licensed ASC in Illinois that focuses solely on all pain- and spine-related care from injections to spine surgeries. Dr. Prunskis is the seven-time recipient of the Castle Connolly Top Pain Doctor Award and was honored as a U.S. News and World Report Top Physician in 2014.

Amy Jo Ptaszek, MD, of NorthShore University Health System in Evanston, Ill., completed her residency at Northwestern University and a fellowship at Baylor University Medical Center. She specializes in foot and ankle surgery and has been published in several national and international publications, including Foot and Ankle Clinics Quarterly and Miller's Review of Orthopedics.

Vito Quatela, MD, a facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon, is the co-founder and CEO of ASC company Ambulatory Healthcare Strategies. Dr. Quatela is the past president of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He also developed and now owns two ASCs in New York. Dr. Quatela also founded the HUGS Foundation, which supports medical missions to children in Ecuador, Guatemala and Vietnam.

David J. Raab, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon and one of the founding physicians of the Illinois Bone & Joint Institute in Morton Grove. He completed medical school and his residency at Northwestern University and has published multiple articles in the American Journal of Sports Medicine.

Michael Redler, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine physician with Surgical Care Affiliates' Surgery Center of Fairfield County in Trumball, Conn. He is fellowship-trained in sports medicine and hand surgery and is the orthopedic consultant to Major League Lacrosse. Christopher Reising, MD, FACS, is the medical director of Pine Ridge Surgery Center in Wausau, Wis., a Pinnacle III-managed center. Jason Rhodes, MD, a board member of Children's North Surgery Center in Broomfield, Colo., graduated from the Baylor College of Medicine in 2002 and completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in 2007. Dr. Rhodes is the director of the Children's Hospital Colorado cerebral palsy and neurmuscular program. Carlos A. Rodriguez, MD, is a gastroenterologist who has led two successful ASC startups. Richard Rosenfield, MD, is the founder and executive medical director of Pearl SurgiCenter and Pearl Women's Center in Portland, Ore. He is a gynecologist and member of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists and Oregon Medical Association. He focuses on minimally invasive approaches and performs outpatient laparoscopic hysterectomies and pelvic prolapse corrections. Dr. Rosenfield opened the ASC in 2005. Rafe Sales, MD, is an orthopedic spine surgeon and founder of the Portland, Ore.-based Summit Spine clinic in 2007. His professional interests include minimally invasive, complex spine procedures and reconstruction. Dr. Sales completed his residency at Oregon Health and Science University and his fellowship at San Francisco Spine Institute. He completed a second fellowship at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

Donald Schellpfeffer, MD, is the CEO of Medical Facilities Corporation and original founder of Sioux Falls (S.D.) Specialty Hospital. Dr. Schellpfeffer began his medical career as an anesthesiologist and has more than 30 years of experience in the ambulatory surgical environments and in general, cardiovascular and trauma practices, as well as authoring numerous medical publications.

Bruce Scott, MD, is an otolaryngologist and head and neck surgeon, as well as medical director of Surgecenter of Louisville. He is a past American Medical Association board member and currently serves on the Kentucky Medical Association.

David Shapiro, MD, CASC, is a past president of the Ambulatory Surgery Center Association and the founder of the consulting firm Ambulatory Surgery Co. He now serves as a board member of the Florida Society of Ambulatory Surgery Centers. Over the course of his career, Dr. Shapiro has served medical director and board member of a number of ASCs.

Gary Shapiro, MD, is a spine surgeon at Illinois Bone and Joint Institute. He completed his fellowship at Hospital for Special Surgery in New York and additional training in thoracic deformity surgery at Children's Hospital San Diego. Thomas A. Simpson, MD, FACS, is a board-certified otolaryngologist and chairman of the board of directors at Iowa City Ambulatory Surgical Center. Dr. Simpson currently serves as president of the board of directors of Mercy of Iowa City Regional PHO. He is also a past president of the Iowa Academy of Otolaryngology.

Kern Singh, MD, is the co-director of the Minimally Invasive Spine Institute at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. Paul Slosar, MD, is president of SpineCare Medical Group, medical director of the Spine Care Institute of San Francisco, co-director of the San Francisco Spine Institute and director of surgical research. Dr. Slosar has authored over 20 original articles in peer-reviewed journals, six book chapters and has given numerous podium presentations at national and international meetings. Keith Smith, MD, is the co-founder and chief medical director of Surgery Center of Oklahoma, which posts its prices online. Dr. Smith earned his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine and completed his residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock.

John Steinmann, DO, treats traumatic spinal injuries as well as degenerative problems of the neck and lower back at Arrowhead Orthopaedics in Redlands, Calif., Dr. Steinmann is the director of spine trauma at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton, Calif., and an assistant clinical professor at Western University. Additionally, he is president and CEO of Renovis Surgical Technologies.

Kevin Stone, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon and the founder of The Stone Clinic in San Francisco, which includes an ambulatory surgery center. Dr. Stone also serves as chairman of the Stone Research Foundation. He holds more than 40 U.S. patents on novel inventions for the field of healthcare. Dr. Stone is also the physician for Smuin Ballet and has served as a physician for the United States ski team, the United States pro ski tour and others.

William Tobler, MD, is a neurological surgeon and sits on the board of managers of The Christ Hospital Spine Surgery Center in Cincinnati. Dr. Tobler's areas of expertise are minimally invasive spine surgery, including discectomy, spinal fusion, decompression, artificial disc replacement and outpatient minimally invasive lumbar spine fusion, minimally invasive deformity correction, tumors of the brain and spine, stereotactic and image-guided neurosurgery and endoscopic pituitary surgery. He also practices at the Mayfield Clinic in Cincinnati.

Patrick Toy, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon with Campbell Clinic Orthopaedics, in Germantown, Tenn. Dr. Toy began performing direct anterior total hip replacement surgery at the Campbell Surgery Center in 2013. He completed his fellowship in orthopedic oncology at the University of Florida in Gainesville. Dr. Toy is also team physician for the University of Memphis Athletics.

Robert Toscano, MD, is a physician with Riverside Surgical Associates in Ohio. Dr. Toscano began his surgical practice in Columbus, Ohio in 1996 after completing his residency at Riverside Methodist Hospital. He is an active member of the teaching staff at Riverside Methodist Hospital, a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a member of the Columbus Surgical Society.

Dwight Tyndall, MD, is a spine surgeon who completed his fellowship at the Hospital for Special Surgery and Cornell University Medical Center in New York City. He practices with Spine Care Specialist in Munster (Ind.). Dr. Valadie is the team physician for the Pittsburgh Pirates, the United States soccer team, IMG Academy and State College of Florida.

Arnaldo Valedon, MD, is an anesthesiologist with the Orthopaedic Associates of Central Maryland Ambulatory Surgical Center in Baltimore. Dr. Valedon practices with First Colonies Anesthesia Associates, based in Frederick, Md. He is also an Ambulatory Surgery Center Association board of directors member.

William Van Wyk, MD, is an orthopedic hand surgeon with Forth Worth (Texas) Surgery Center, a Surgical Care Affiliates ASC. Dr. Van Wyk completed his residency at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas, and his fellowship at Orthopedic Hospital in Los Angeles. He's a minority owner of the Baylor Surgical Hospital of Fort Worth.

Kevin Vaught, MD, is a board-certified neurosurgeon. Dr. Vaught performs procedures at the Blue Chip Surgical Center Partners-affiliated West Park Surgery Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo. He practices at Regional Brain and Spine in Cape Girardeau. Dr. Vaught has held several leadership positions at Southeast Missouri Hospital, including chief of neurosurgery, chair of the continuing medical education committee and physician excellence committee member.

Pedro Vergne-Marini, MD, FACP, FACC, is the founder and vice chairman of PCI | HealthDev, formerly Physicians' Capital Investments. Prior to founding PCI | HealthDev, Dr. Vergne-Marini was the president and CEO of Dallas Nephrology Associates and chairman of the board of Renaissance Health Care. He is currently the program director for transplantation and renal disease at Methodist Dallas Medical Center, as well as an appointed clinical professor of medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, and the managing partner for several existing physician real estate partnerships.

George Violin, MD, FACS, an ophthalmologist, is one ofthe pioneers in small incision cataract and implant surgery in Massachusetts. Dr. Violin is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a charter member of the American College of Eye Surgeons. He completed his residency at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary.

Chandresh Viradia, MD, opened the 13,000-square-foot Macon, Ga.-based Axis Pain Center and ASC in June 2015, where he currently serves as the medical director. The pain center and ASC currently comprises of four physicians trained in anesthesiology and pain medicine. Dr. Viradia also serves as medical director of Lakeview Surgery Center in Warner Robins, Ga. Both facilities are certified by The Joint Commission. Dr. Viradia completed his pain medicine fellowship at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation and his MBA degree with a focus on healthcare at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.

Jeffrey Visotsky, MD, FACS, is a founding member of the Illinois Bone and Joint Institute in Morton Grove, Ill. Dr. Visotsky practices with Illinois Bone and Joint Institute, and specializes in hand, elbow and shoulder reconstruction procedures.

L. Philipp Wall, MD, RPVI, a vascular and endovascular surgeon and registered vascular interpretation physician, is the founder of Arizona Vein and Vascular Center, a specialist practice devoted to the treatment and practice of vascular disease. Dr. Wall completed his residency and fellowship at SUNY in New York. In 2011, Arizona Center for Minimally Invasive Surgery (Arizona Vein and Vascular Center) became an AAAASF-accredited ambulatory surgery center.

Steven R. Wardell, MD, an orthopedic surgeon, performs procedures at Orland Park (Ill.) Surgical Center, managed by Pinnacle III. Dr. Wardell has performed more than 4,000 successful joint replacement procedures. He completed his residency at Northwestern University in Chicago, and his fellowship at Tufts University New England Baptist Hospital in Boston.

Lowell Scott Weil Sr., DPM, is a founding member of the Foot & Ankle Surgery Center, now known as the Regenerative Surgery Center, in Des Plaines, Ill. Dr. Weil is a podiatric surgeon based in Des Plaines, Ill. He is the founding member and CEO of the 50-year-old Weil Foot & Ankle Institute with 20 locations throughout Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin. Dr. Weil was the team podiatrist and podiatry consultant for the Chicago Bears for 27 years and is currently the team physician for the Chicago White Sox.

Michael C. Weiss, DO, FAOAO, is an orthopedic spine surgeon and chairman of the department of surgery of the Laser Spine Institute. His broad base of experience includes arthroscopy, sports medicine, hand surgery and arthritis surgery, as well as several major spine procedures, such as laminectomy and laser discectomy.

Thomas Wherry, MD, is an anesthesiologist in Maryland and co-founder of Total Anesthesia Solutions. Dr. Wherry is on the Surgical Care Affiliates physician leadership board. He completed his residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.

John Williams, MD, is the president and medical director of the ASD Management-affiliated Strictly Pediatrics Surgery Center in Austin, Texas. An orthopedic spine surgeon, Dr. Williams practices at Central Texas Pediatric Orthopedics.

Robert Wills, MD, a pain management physician, is co-founder and chief medical officer of Arise Healthcare. In addition to his work with Arise Healthcare, Dr. Wills founded Austin Pain Associates, which is now one of the largest pain management practices in Austin. He completed his residency at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle.

Craig Witz, MD, a board-certified OB/GYN physician, performs procedures at Piney Point Surgery Center in Houston, a Vivere Health-affiliated surgery center. Dr. Witz also serves as the director of clinical research at Houston Fertility Institute. He has done extensive research in the area of endometriosis and has won multiple awards for his publications evaluating its pathogenesis.

Richard N.W. Wohns, MD, JD, MBA, is founder and president of NeoSpine and Microsurgical Spine Center in Puyallup, Wash. He is a pioneer of outpatient spine surgery and founded the company NeoSpine in 2001 to develop a national network of outpatient spine surgery centers, which was acquired by Symbion in 2008. Dr. Wohns served as chief consultant to Symbion for outpatient spine surgery center development. He also co-founded U.S. Radiosurgery, a company that developed and managed Gamma Knife and Cyberknife Radiosurgery centers. Alliance Oncology acquired U.S. Radiosurgery in 2011.

Kimberly Wood, MD, is co-chair of the ASC Quality Collaboration and the founder of kmdWOOD, which provides consulting services to the ASC industry. Dr. Wood has participated in several collaborative and cooperative initiatives, including the ASC Advocacy Committee and the ASC Coalition.

Robert Woodbury, MD, of Advanced Surgery Institute in California, completed residency at the Navy Medical Center of San Diego, Scripps Mercy Hospital, Pacific Bariatric Group and a post-residency program in advanced laparoscopic and GI surgery at Scripps Green Hospital. Dr. Woodbury is the chief of surgery at Sutter Medical Hospital and currently serves as the medical director of Healthy Steps Bariatric and Metabolic Center in Santa Rose, Calif.

Jay N. Yepuri, MD, is a member of the board of directors for the Digestive Health Associates of Texas and vice president of the Texas Ambulatory Surgery Center Society. Dr. Yepuri is an AAAHC surveyor and serves as councilor of the Texas Society for Gastroenterology and Endoscopy. He is also a delegate for TSGE to the Texas Medical Association. Dr. Yepuri is extremely active in the ASC industry and has traveled to Washington, D.C., to lobby Congress.

Anthony Yeung, MD, is an orthopedic spine surgeon and founder of the Desert Institute for Spine Care in Phoenix. Dr. Yeung developed the FDA-approved Yeung Endoscopic Spine System, and was one of the first surgeons to use endoscopically-guided lasers for degenerative conditions of the lumbar spine, particularly herniated discs, bulging discs with annular tears and foraminal stenosis.

William Zerick, MD, of Knightsbridge Surgery Center in Ohio, completed residency at Ohio State University's department of neurological surgery and a fellowship at the Barrow Neurological Institute of Phoenix.

Jeffrey Zilberfarb, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon at New England Baptist Hospital. Dr. Zilberfarb holds a certificate of added qualification in sports medicine, and specializes in minimally invasive shoulder, elbow, knee and ankle surgery, as well as total shoulder replacement surgery. He is also co-founder of Meeks and Zilberfarb Orthopedics and Sports Medicine in Brookline and Dedham, Mass. In addition to his work at NEBH, he holds an academic appointment at Harvard Medical School, where he teaches medical students and orthopedic surgery residents.
