An efficient and skillful administrator is critical to the success of an ambulatory surgery center. Administrators oversee every aspect of their ASC's business, and they are tasked with navigating their ASC through the rapidly changing healthcare landscape. Here are 154 ASC administrators to know this year.

Margaret Adams, CASC, is administrator of Riddle Surgery Center in Media, Pa., and group vice president at Nueterra. She has served as a nurse for more than 30 years, and for the last 12 years, she has served as a nursing director and administrator. Riddle Surgery Center, which she oversees, features four operating rooms. It was developed by area physicians, Bryn Mawr, Pa.-based Main Line Health Systems, Philadelphia-based Rothman Institute and Nueterra Healthcare.

Nancy Akers, RN, BSN, CLNC, is administrator of Foothills Surgery Center in Boulder, Colo., as well as director of operations for PINNACLE III. She possesses nearly 20 years of healthcare experience and received her bachelor of science in nursing degree from Radford (Va.) University. In 2005, Ms. Akers participated in a medical mission trip to Ecuador as a volunteer operating room RN. She also serves as a certified legal nurse consultant for Lone Tree Legal Nurse Consulting.

Traci Albers is the executive director of High Pointe Surgery Center in Lake Elmo, Minn., and North Memorial Ambulatory Surgery Center at Maple Grove (Minn.). She serves on the board of the Minnesota Ambulatory Surgery Center Association.

Tammy Andrews, CASC, is administrator of Carolina Coast Surgery Center in Murrells Inlet, S.C. She serves as president of the South Carolina Ambulatory Surgery Center Association. Ms. Andrews is on the Ambulatory Surgery Center Association's National State of Affairs Committee. She has experience as a CFO, internal auditor, director of finance, director of ambulatory surgery centers and staff accountant at various hospitals, surgery centers and clinics.  

Dianne B. Appleby, RN, MBA, serves as executive director of Menomonee Falls (Wis.) Ambulatory Surgery Center. She is also on the Ambulatory Surgery Center Association board of directors. She oversees the ASC, which is equipped with five operating rooms, four minor procedure rooms and an eye laser room. Ms. Abbleby received her business degree from Concordia University-Wisconsin in Mequon.
 
Jesseye Arrambide serves as the executive director for Portland-based Oregon Outpatient Surgery Center, a role she has held for more than 12 years. Ms. Arrambide is the past president of the Oregon Ambulatory Surgery Center Association. Before joining the surgery center, she was the director of surgical and obstetric services at Newport, Ore.-based Pacific Communities Hospital.

Jayne Bacot, RN, CNOR, CASC, is the administrator of Lake Surgery Center in Baton Rouge, La. Ms. Bacot has been the administrator for Lake Surgery Center for the last eight years. She also serves on the Louisiana Ambulatory Surgery Center Association board.

Jeffrey Baird is the administrator for Willamette Ear, Nose, Throat & Facial Plastic Surgery in Salem, Ore. He is the past president of the Oregon Medical Group Managers Association. He currently serves on the Oregon Ambulatory Surgery Center Association's board of directors.

Beverly Baker is administrator of Timberlake Surgery Center in Chesterfield, Mo. The center provides services in orthopedics, podiatry and pain management. Ms. Baker serves on the board of the Missouri Ambulatory Surgery Center Association.
 
Gwen Baker, RN, serves as administrator and director of perioperative care at Apple Hill Surgical Center in York, Pa. She is also the president of the Pennsylvania Ambulatory Surgery Association. The surgery center houses 10 advanced surgical suites and two procedure rooms.

Penny Barthe is the Louisiana Ambulatory Surgery Center Association's treasurer. She is administrator of Metairie, La.-based Crescent View Surgery Center, a position she has held for more than two years. Prior to joining Crescent View Surgery Center, Ms. Barthe was the administrator of Greater New Orleans Surgery Center.

Don Bartnick is the CEO of Annapolis (Md.) Surgery Center and the Maryland Eye Surgery Center in Prince Frederick. The Annapolis Surgery Center has grown from a single specialty ASC to a multispecialty facility performing pain management, orthopedic surgery, general surgery and ophthalmic surgery. Previously, Mr. Bartnick spent several years as vice president of operations at Fallston (Md.) General Hospital. He currently serves as treasurer of the Maryland Ambulatory Surgery Association.

Sandy Berreth, RN, BS, MS, CASC, is administrator of Northwoods Surgery Center, in Woodruff, Wis., and Pine Ridge Surgery Center in Wausau, Wis. She also serves as PINNACLE III's director of operations. Ms. Berreth has 17 years of ASC joint venture administration experience. Her work as an Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care surveyor has given her the opportunity to better understand federal regulations. Ms. Berreth serves as an Ambulatory Surgery Center Association board member.  
 
Scott Bergman is administrator of Millennium Surgical Center in Philadelphia. His specialties include ASC and medical practice development, management and consulting. Mr. Bergman serves on the board of the New Jersey Association of Ambulatory Surgery Centers.

Adam Berry is the CEO of St. Paul, Minn.-based Summit Orthopedics, which includes three ASCs in Minnesota — Landmark Surgery Center, Plymouth Surgery Center and Woodbury Ambulatory Surgery Center. He was previously COO at Summit Orthopedics, and before then, he was administrator of Apple Valley (Minn.) Medical Center.
 
Angela Blankinship, CASC, is the administrator of St. Joseph Health ASC in Santa Rosa, Calif. She has previously served as administrator of Nobilis Surgery Center in Dallas and Longmont (Colo.) Surgery Center. She was also director of surgery at San Luis Valley Regional Medical Center Alamosa, Colo., from 2008 to 2012.
 
Marjorie Blouin is administrator of Maryland's Surgeons Center in Columbia. She has been a registered nurse for the past 35 years and a surveyor for the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care for the past 11 years. Ms. Blouin has been involved in legislative issues for ASCs and has testified in front of both the U.S. House and Senate regarding these issues in Maryland. She serves on the board of the Maryland Ambulatory Surgery Association.
 
Debbie Boudreaux is the administrator of Surgicare of Lake Charles (La.). She has served as the ASC's administrator for the past 33 years. Ms. Boudreaux is the secretary of the Louisiana Ambulatory Surgery Association.

Richard Brochu is the CEO of The Surgery Center of Genesee County in Flint, Mich. He previously served as president of the Michigan Ambulatory Surgery Association. The Surgery Center of Genesee County is an Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care-accredited facility.

Tammy Burnett serves as executive director of The Plastic Surgical Center of Mississippi in Flowood. She oversees the surgery center, which includes nine surgeons. Ms. Burnett is also the president of the Mississippi Ambulatory Surgery Center Association.

Jessica Bush is the administrator of Easton (Md.) Surgery Center, a Surgical Care Affiliates' facility. Easton is a multispecialty center, and one of the first in the region to start an outpatient total joints program. In 2016, Ms. Bush received SCA's "Top Administrator for Service Excellence" award for her leadership, hard work and commitment to creating the total joints program.
 
Jennifer Butterfield, RN, CNOR, CASC, has served as CEO of Lakes Surgery Center in West Bloomfield, Mich., for more than four years. She previously served as director of surgical services at Lakes Surgery Center, before which she was an operating room nurse/board coordinator at Michigan Surgical Hospital in Warren. In 2016, she was a member of the 2016-2017 Guidelines Advisory Board of the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses. She is also a member of the education committee of the Ambulatory Surgery Center Association.
 
Victoria Caillet, RN CNOR, CASC, is the Ohio Association of Ambulatory Surgery Centers' treasurer. She is the administrator of Wooster (Ohio) Surgery Center. Ms. Caillet played an integral part in opening Wooster Surgery Center in 2008 and has since navigated the center through various inspections and accreditation surveys.

Jean Calhoun, RN, is the regional administrator of East West Surgery Center in Austell, Ga., and Northwest Georgia Surgery Center in Marietta. She serves as secretary and treasurer for the Georgia Society of Ambulatory Surgery Centers. Each surgery center holds three operating rooms. East West offers gastroenterology and orthopedic services, and Northwest Georgia offers orthopedic and pain management services.

Christi Campbell serves as administrator of Surgicare Center of Idaho in Boise. Ms. Campbell is on the Idaho Ambulatory Surgery Center Association board and is a past president. The ASC holds two operating rooms and offers ophthalmology services.

Susan Cheek, CPA, CHCC, CASC, is the administrator for Dallas Endoscopy Center and IV Anesthesia Services. She has been with Dallas Endoscopy Center for the last 10 years. Ms. Cheek is also the CEO of BridgeConx software solutions and serves on the Texas Ambulatory Surgery Center Society's board of directors.

Beverly Chopin serves as administrator of Columbus (Miss.) Orthopaedic Outpatient Center. She oversees the surgery center, which offers sports medicine services, hand and reconstructive joint surgery, foot and ankle surgery, spine surgery and general orthopedics. Ms. Chopin is on the board of the Mississippi Ambulatory Surgery Center Association.

Kelli Coelho, MBA, CASC, is the executive director of Day Surgery at Riverbend in Springfield, Ore. She has served as the ASC's executive director since September 2014. Ms. Coelho is a board of directors' member for the Oregon Ambulatory Surgery Center Association.

Steve Corl is administrator of Mackinaw Surgery Center in Saginaw, Mich. He serves as president of the Michigan Ambulatory Surgery Association. Mackinaw Surgery Center is a state-licensed, 16,000-square-foot facility with four operating rooms and three procedure rooms.

Paula Counts, RN, is administrator of East Tennessee Ambulatory Surgery Center in Johnson City. Before her current role as an ASC administrator, she served as a practice administrator at Johnson City-based Mountain States Medical Group. The Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care-accredited East Tennessee Ambulatory Surgery Center offers care in a wide-array of specialties, including neurosurgery, ophthalmology and urology.
 
Rebecca Craig, RN, CASC, became the CEO of Fort Collins, Colo.-based Harmony Surgery Center in 2001. She has been with the ASC since it opened in August 2000. Ms. Craig serves on the Colorado Ambulatory Surgery Center Association board of directors. Throughout her career, Ms. Craig has served in various management roles in perioperative services.

Cheryl Cunningham, BA, RN, CASC, is the administrator of Findlay (Ohio) Surgery Center. She has been the administrator for nearly 16 years. Ms. Cunningham is the chair of the Ohio Association of Ambulatory Surgery Centers.

Todd Currier, CASC, CMPE, CPA, is the administrator of Cody-based Northern Wyoming Surgical Center. He has served as administrator since 2010. Mr. Currier is president of the Wyoming Ambulatory Surgery Center Association. The Northern Wyoming Surgical Center offers surgical, endoscopic and pain management services.

Marilynn Daberkow, RN, CASC, is the administrator for Willamette Surgery Center in Salem, Ore. She serves as the secretary of the Oregon Ambulatory Surgery Center Association. Prior to her role as administrator, Ms. Daberkow was the operating room coordinator for Willamette Surgery Center.

Jean Day, BSN, CNOR, is the interim administrator of Boulder (Colo.) Surgery Center as well as the director of clinical education for PINNACLE III. She is equipped with 40 years of healthcare experience, excelling in project management and developing numerous programs addressing the operational issues affecting ASCs. Ms. Day launched a perioperative OR RN program, training experienced PACU RNs to OR circulating RN positions in order to address an OR specialty nurse shortage.  

Greg DeConciliis, PA­C, CASC, is the administrator of Boston Out­Patient Surgical Suites in Newtonville, Mass. He is a licensed physician assistant and worked at New England Baptist Hospital in Boston before assuming his current role. Boston Out-Patient Surgical Suites is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care and offers orthopedic procedures.
 
Alfonso del Granado is the administrator of Ashton Center for Day Surgery in Hoffman Estates, Ill., and chief compliance officer at Oak Brook Medical Management.  Oak Brook Medical Management oversees six ASCs and medical practices, including Ashton Center for Day Surgery. Mr. del Granado previously served as the gynecology service line leader at Weiss Memorial Hospital in Chicago.  
 
Claudette Downs, RN, CASC, is administrator of Short Hills Surgery Center in New Jersey. She serves as vice president and program committee co-chair of the New Jersey Association of Ambulatory Surgery Centers.

Barb Draves, LPN, CASC, is administrator of The Surgery Center Middleburg Heights in Cleveland. She serves on the board of the Ohio Association of Ambulatory Surgery Centers. The Surgery Center Middleburg Heights is licensed by the state of Ohio and Medicare-certified, as well as accredited by The Joint Commission.
 
Jeany Dunaway, RN, CASC, is the administrator of Effingham (Ill.) Ambulatory Surgery Center. The ASC is an affiliate of United Surgical Partners International, and it is accredited by Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. The center features five operating rooms and offers surgical services in general surgery, gynecology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, pain management, podiatry, ENT and dental surgery.

Kelly Easley is the administrator of Midlands Orthopaedics Surgery Center in Columbia, S.C. At the surgery center, Ms. Easley has held numerous roles including surgery center manager, operating room manager, operating room circulator as well as an office nurse. She serves as vice president of the South Carolina Ambulatory Surgery Center Association's board.

Laurie Eberly, MBA, CASC, is administrator of Polaris Surgery Center in Columbus, Ohio. She serves as secretary of the Ohio Association of Ambulatory Surgery Centers. The Polaris Surgery Center is located inside the OhioHealth Westerville Medical Campus.
 
Scott Edwards is the administrator of North Mississippi Surgery Center in Tupelo. He is a board member of the Mississippi Ambulatory Surgery Center Association. A joint venture between North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo and physician owners, North Mississippi Surgery Center opened in 1986.

Robert Eisenberg, RN, CASC, is administrator of Greenspring Surgery Center in Baltimore. He currently serves on the board of the Maryland Ambulatory Surgery Association and previously served as secretary on the board of the Maryland Nurses Association.

Ezra Erb is the administrator of Aloha Surgical Center in Kahului, Hawaii, a Surgical Care Affiliates facility. Aloha is a growing center that handles 5,200 cases annually. As the only multispecialty facility currently on the island of Maui, Mr. Erb and his team play a vital role in caring for the island's population.  He is passionate about continuously improving clinical quality in his region, and his center consistently scores high on this.   

Lisa Everson, RN, is the administrator of Clarus Eye Centre in Lacey, Wash. She also serves as vice president of the Washington Ambulatory Surgery Center Association's board of directors. The eye center offers retina services, eye care, aesthetics, laser cataract surgery, optical services and blade-free LASIK.

Brien Fausone is the administrator of Michigan Endoscopy Center in Farmington Hills. The gastroenterology-focused ASC offers colonoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy and upper endoscopy, among other services. The center includes 19 physicians.
 
Terry Fitzpatrick is the administrator of Oregon Urology Institute in Springfield, which includes Oregon Surgi Center. The center is the largest urology surgery facility in the Northwest. Mr. Fitzpatrick is a member of the Oregon Ambulatory Surgery Center Association's board of directors.

Tara Flanagan, RN, CASC, is the administrator of Ardmore (Okla.) Regional Surgery Center, before which she served as clinical director of the ASC. Previously, she was a staff nurse at Mercy Memorial Health Center in Ardmore. The ASC is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care.
 
Erik Flexman, MHPA, FACHE, CASC, is the current director of Forest Canyon Endoscopy & Surgery Center in Flagstaff, Ariz. Mr. Flexman has served as the ASC's executive director since November 2012. He is currently a board member of the Arizona Ambulatory Surgery Center Association.

Maria Freed, MHSA, is the administrator of the Coral Gable Surgery Center in Miami. Ms. Freed has 25 years of healthcare experience. She has previously served as an assistant administrator at Coral Gables (Fla.) Hospital and Doctors Hospital in Coral Gables. She also previously served as director of international services for HealthSouth Corporation in Birmingham, Ala. She won the Miami Women Who Rock Advocacy Award in 2015.
 
Dallas Freyer, RN, has served as the administrator for Corpus Christi (Texas) Outpatient Surgery since 2004. Ms. Freyer is also the administrator of Surgicare of Corpus Christi. She is a member of Texas Ambulatory Surgery Center Society, where she serves on the Society Programs & Education committee.

Sue Funk, RN, BSN, CASC, is the administrator of Christus Cabrini Surgery Center in Alexandria, La. She also serves on the Louisiana Ambulatory Surgery Center Association board. Equipped with four ORs and two treatment rooms, Christus Cabrini Surgery Center offers general, gynecologic, orthopedic, pain, podiatric and urologic services.

Patrick Garman has served as the executive administrator of Monongahela, Pa.-based Spartan Health Surgicenter for the last eight years. Mr. Garman is presently the Pennsylvania Ambulatory Surgery Association's treasurer. Previously, Mr. Garman was the administrator of Warm Springs Rehabilitation System in San Antonio.

Sharon Gelardi, RN, is the administrator of The Gastro-Surgi Center of New Jersey in Mountainside. She serves as secretary on the board of the New Jersey Association of Ambulatory Surgery Centers.

John Gleason, MMHS, CASC, CMPE, is president-elect of the Pennsylvania Ambulatory Surgery Association's board of directors. He is the administrator of Susquehanna Valley Surgery Center in Harrisburg, Pa., a role he has held since July 2015. Prior to joining Susquehanna Valley Surgery Center, Mr. Gleason was the executive director of Digestive Disease Associates in Wyomissing, Pa. From October 1998 to November 2001, he was the administrator of DaVita, a kidney care company.

Michael Graziano is administrator of Clifton (N.J.) Surgery Center. He serves as treasurer on the board of the New Jersey Association of Ambulatory Surgery Centers. Clifton Surgery Center is a state-licensed, Medicare-certified facility with two major ORs and two recovery areas.

Julie Greene is CEO/administrator of Muskegon (Mich.) Surgery Center and Orthopaedic Associates of Muskegon. She previously served as board director for the Michigan Ambulatory Surgery Association. The surgery center is Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care-accredited.

Donna Griggs, RN, BSN, MPH, is the administrator and CNO of New Gulf Coast Surgery Center in Ocean Springs, Miss. She is a board member of the Mississippi Ambulatory Surgery Center Association. She earned her master's degree in public health from The University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg.  

Andrew Gwinnell, MHSA, CASC, is the executive director of Truvista Surgery Center in Troy, Mich. He serves as secretary on the board of the Michigan Ambulatory Surgery Association. Truvista Surgery Center a state-licensed, Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care-accredited and Medicare-certified facility established in 2007.

Elizabeth Hakal, RN, serves as administrator of Canyon Surgery Center in Phoenix. Equipped with more than 20 years of clinical experience, Ms. Hakal has always been interested in the outpatient surgery center landscape. Ms. Hakal serves as treasurer on the Arizona Ambulatory Surgery Center Association's board of directors.

Jane Haire is the administrator of Nebraska Surgery Center in Lincoln. She was previously assistant to the president of Saint Elizabeth Regional Medical Center in Lincoln. She is involved in volunteer activities and serves as a member of the board of directors at Houses of Hope. Nebraska Surgery Center is a 10,000-square-foot facility with four operating suites and 11 recovery rooms.

Michaela Halcomb, RN, BSN, MPS, CIC, CASC, is the administrator of Peak One Surgery Center in Frisco, Colo. She also serves as director of operations for PINNACLE III and has more than 37 years of healthcare experience. She holds a bachelor of science in nursing degree from Bloomington-based Indiana University, and is certified in infection control. She oversaw the surgery center during a CMS Recertification Survey, Life Safety Survey and the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care Recertification Survey.

Patrick Haley is the vice president of Aptos (Calif.) Surgery Center. He previously served as administrator of Santa Cruz (Calif.) Surgery Center for one year and administrator of Soquel, Calif.-based The Spine Clinic of Monterey Bay for almost 12 years. Aptos Surgery Center is Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care-accredited.

Ken Hammer is the director of the Surgery Center of Kalamazoo in Portage, Mich. He serves as first vice president on the board of the Michigan Ambulatory Surgery Association. The Surgery Center of Kalamazoo is Medicare-certified and Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care-accredited.

David Harano, MBA, MHA, is CEO of Gastro One, which includes three locations for its GI Diagnostic and Therapeutic Endoscopy Center. He is also CEO of Tennessee Gastro, a group of six practices. He is the former chair of the Medical Group Management Association's Gastroenterology Administration Assembly. He is also chairman of the Tennessee Cancer Coalition's Colorectal Cancer Committee.

Tracie Hark, MBA, CASC, is the administrator of Northeast Missouri Ambulatory Surgery Center in Hannibal. She serves on the board of the Missouri Ambulatory Surgery Center Association. The multispecialty surgery center, established in 2000, is a joint venture between Hannibal (Mo.) Clinic and B & B Enterprises.

Judy Harless, MBA, CASC, is San Diego-based SMI Surgery Center's administrator. Ms. Harless serves as secretary on the Ambulatory Surgery Center Association board of directors as well as the legislative co-chair on the California Ambulatory Surgery Association board of directors. She is also on The Joint Commission's Professional Technical Advisory Committee and the Board of Ambulatory Surgery Certification Examination Committee.  

Joleen Harrison is the administrator of Mankato (Minn.) Surgery Center. She serves on the board of the Minnesota Ambulatory Surgery Center Association. The Mankato Surgery Center offers procedures in general surgery, gynecology, orthopedics, ENT, eye surgery, urologic surgery, podiatry and pain management.

Patty Harrison is the administrator of Linden Surgical Center in Beverly Hills, Calif., Summit Surgery Center in Santa Barbara, Calif., and Premier Surgery Center, also in Santa Barbara. She oversees clinical operations and is responsible for achieving and maintaining all accreditation and certification standards for each center. She has more than 10 years of nursing and management experience.
 
Stephanie Harvey serves as the CEO of Independent Surgery Center in Chippewa Falls, Wis. She is president-elect of the Association of Wisconsin Surgery Centers. Independent Surgery Center offers eye surgeries and laser procedures for conditions such as cataracts and glaucoma.

Heather Hilgendorf-Cooley, MBA, is administrator of Spring Park Surgery Center in Davenport, Iowa. She serves as president of the Iowa Association of Ambulatory Surgery Centers. She oversees the surgery center, which offers pediatric procedures, eye and urological procedures.

Jessica Hill is administrator of Bear Creek Surgery Center in Keller, Texas. She is a board member of the North Texas Association of Healthcare Quality and has received the 40 Under 40 Award from Fort Worth Business Press.

Tracy Hoeft-Hoffman, MBA, is the administrator of Fremont (Neb.) Health Surgery Center, a multispecialty ASC. Prior to her current role, she was the administrator of Hastings (Neb.) Surgical Center. She is a member of the Ambulatory Surgery Center Association. She has completed a master's degree in healthcare administration from The University of Dallas.
 
Tracey Hood, RN, is administrator of the Ohio Valley Ambulatory Surgery Center in Belpre. Ohio Valley includes three ORs and is a multi-specialty facility that offers services in orthopedics, urology, gastroenterology, neurosurgery and general surgery.

Debra Horner, CASC, FACHE, is the administrator of Memorial Surgery Center in Tulsa, Okla. The surgery center is an affiliate of United Surgical Partners International, and it is accredited by Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. The center features four ORs and three procedure rooms.
 
Karen Hudspeth is the administrator of McKenzie Surgery Center in Eugene, Ore., an affiliate of Surgical Care Affiliates. Karen received SCA's "Clinical First Award" for her leadership in driving improvement in clinical quality.  McKenzie Surgery Center is a multispecialty facility that completes nearly 3,800 cases per year.  Ms. Hudspeth is the Clinical Champion for her region and has participated in two medical missions in Honduras with SCA's Medical Missions Program.

Sev Hrywnak, MD, DPM, is the president and CEO of Advanced Ambulatory Surgical Center in Chicago. He has served as chief executive of the 10,000-square-foot facility for more than 16 years. He is also CEO of The Sev Group, a business investment company. He is the founder and chairman of the board of Project HUGS, a nonprofit healthcare organization. Additionally, he is a majority owner of the Rochester Razorsharks basketball team.
 
Shannon Ireland-Magro, RN, CASC, is the administrator of Physicians Surgery Center of Frederick (Md.). She serves on the board of the Maryland Ambulatory Surgery Association. The Physicians Surgery Center of Frederick is a freestanding, multispecialty ASC.

Guenevere Kaffenberger is administrator of Danbury (Conn.) Surgical Center, a Surgical Care Affiliates facility. She has been with SCA for 14 years, rising through the ranks from an initial position of staff nurse, to charge nurse, director of nursing and ultimately administrator. Danbury is a multispecialty center that performs over 7,700 cases per year. Ms. Kaffenberger is also a regional peer advisor on SCA Insight, a new operational reporting system.

Scott Kallemeyn serves as executive director of Cedar Rapids (Iowa) Surgery Center. He oversees the ASC, housing 26 private preoperative and recovery rooms as well as six surgical suites and three procedural rooms. Mr. Kallemeyn is also the treasurer on the Iowa Association of Ambulatory Surgery Centers' board of directors.

Karen Kelly is the administrator of Surgery Center of Gilbert in Mesa, Ariz., and serves on Arizona Ambulatory Surgery Center Association's board of directors. She oversees the multispecialty surgery center, which offers ophthalmology, otolaryngology, plastic surgery, podiatry and urology services.

Kathy King is the current administrator for Specialty Surgery Center in Las Vegas, and she has held that role since September 2010. Previously, Ms. King was the administrator for Las Vegas Surgery Center. Ms. King is the president of the Nevada Ambulatory Surgery Center Association.

Jason Kerkhove is Denver-based Rose Surgical Center's administrator. He also serves on the board of directors for the Colorado Ambulatory Surgery Center Association. Mr. Kerkhove oversees the ASC, equipped with five ORs, four GI/endoscopy suites, two pain management suites and two overnight rooms.

Janie Kinsey, RN, CASC, is the president of the Kansas Association of Ambulatory Surgery Centers. Since January 2015, Ms. Kinsey has been the administrator of Saint Luke's Surgicenter-Lee's Summit in Leawood, Kan. Previously, she was the administrator of St. Luke's South Surgery Center in Overland Park, Kan.

Rikki Knight, RN, has served as the administrator of Lakeview Surgery Center in West Des Moines, Iowa, since March 2013. She oversees the surgery center, which serves more than 600 patients every month. Ms. Knight is the immediate past president of the Iowa Association of Ambulatory Surgery Centers.

Nanette Kveder is the administrator and CFO of Palisades Eye Surgery Center in Bethesda, Md. Ms. Kveder is also a budget research analyst at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. She previously worked as a senior project manager at Johns Hopkins Hospital's Wilmer Eye Institute. She is a member of the Healthcare Finance Management Association.
 
Rose Lambie, RN, MEd, CNOR, is administrator of the SurgiCenter of Baltimore in Owings Mills, Md. She serves on the board of the Maryland Ambulatory Surgery Association and is a surveyor for the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care.

Diane Lampron, BSN, CASC, serves as administrator of The Surgery Center at Lutheran in Wheat Ridge, Colo. She has also been PINNACLE III's director of operations since 2007. Ms. Lampron has more than 30 years of progressive healthcare experience and holds a bachelor of science in nursing degree from Detroit-based Wayne State University. Ms. Lampron has been the presiding administrator during a total of five official Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care accreditations and numerous state re-licensure surveys.
 
Carla Lauenstein, RN, is the facility administrator of Southwest Lincoln (Neb.) Surgery Center. Ms. Lauenstein previously worked as a registered nurse at the ASC, before which she was an RN at Bryan Health in Lincoln. The ASC is affiliated with Blue Chip Surgery Centers and offers spine, ophthalmology and cosmetic surgery services, among others.

Gayle Legget is the administrator of Oasis Surgery Center in Canton, Ohio, and he serves on the board of the Ohio Association of Ambulatory Surgery Centers. Board-certified Oasis Surgery Center. surgeons offer patients a range of orthopedic services.

Neal Maerki, RN, is treasurer of the Oregon Ambulatory Surgery Center Association. He is the administrator of Bend (Ore.) Surgery Center and has been with the center for the last 19 years. Mr. Maerki is the president of the Bend Surgery Center Foundation, a nonprofit that has provided almost $200,000 in scholarships to Central Oregon students since 2001.

Terri Mahoney, BN, CNOR, CASC, is the director of Bluffton-Okatie (S.C.) Surgery Center. Ms. Mahoney is the treasurer of the South Carolina Ambulatory Surgery Center Association. In 2004, Blufton-Okatie Surgery Center became an independent, freestanding, licensed ASC.

Joe Majerus is the administrator of Lakewalk Surgery Center in Duluth, Minn. He serves as president of the Minnesota Ambulatory Surgery Center Association. Lakewalk Surgery Center is a multispecialty ASC specializing in orthopedics, plastic surgery, gastroenterology, oral surgery, ophthalmology and pain management.
 
Sarah Malaniak, CASC, is the administrator of Ambulatory Center for Endoscopy in North Bergen, N.J. She previously served as administrator at Teaneck (N.J.) Surgical Center for more than five years. Ms. Malaniak currently serves on the board of the New Jersey Association of Ambulatory Surgery Centers.

Stephanie Martin, RN, CNOR, CASC, is the administrator of Flagler Surgery Center in St. Augustine, Fla. She has served in her current role for five years. Ms. Martin earned a master of healthcare administration degree at Belhaven University in Jackson, Miss.  
 
Jebby Mathew, MBA, MHA, serves as administrator of The Orthopaedic and Spine Center of Southern Colorado in Colorado Springs, as well as the director of operations for PINNACLE III. Mr. Mathew enhances operational efficiencies, develops collaborative solutions and directs major initiatives to support and reform clinical processes. He is affiliated with the American Council of Healthcare Executives and Management Group Medical Association.

Lianne McDowell, CASC, is administrator of South Portland Surgical Center in Tualatin, Ore. The ASC she oversees is Medicare-certified and accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. The facility includes more than 15 physicians offering care in specialties such as orthopedics and ENT.

Stu McFadden, MHA, MBA, is the CEO of Four Corners Ambulatory Surgery Center in Farmington, N.M. He oversees the multispecialty surgery center, which performs nearly 5,000 cases annually. The ASC offers ENT, general surgery, gynecology, orthopedic, ophthalmology, pain management, podiatry, urology and plastic services.
 
Faith McHale is the administrator of Belmont/Harlem Surgery Center in Chicago. Prior to joining the ASC, Ms. McHale was the executive director of Elmhurst (Ill.) Outpatient Surgery Center. She is a board member of the Ambulatory Surgery Center Association of Illinois.

Melissa McSherry is administrator of Munster (Ind.) Specialty Surgery Center. She previously served as charge nurse of surgery at St. Catherine Hospital in East Chicago, Ind. The Munster Indiana Specialty Surgery Center is Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care-accredited.
 
Mary Meier is currently the administrator of Eye Center of Columbus (Ohio), a role she has held for more than eight years. Prior to joining Eye Center of Columbus, Ms. Meier was the billing manager of Central Ohio Neurological Surgeons in Westerville. She also serves on the board of the Ohio Association of Ambulatory Surgery Centers. She has been on the board since December 2012.

David C. Milton serves as administrator of Phoenix Surgicenter, which was the first freestanding multispecialty surgery center in the nation. Mr. Milton oversees the ASC, which performs more than 800 surgeries a month. He is also the immediate past president of the Ambulatory Surgery Center Association.

Kristy Minatto, RN, is administrator of the Wisconsin Specialty Surgery Center in Kenosha. The Wisconsin Specialty Surgery Center is a state-licensed, Medicare-certified and Joint Commission-accredited facility.

Cheryl Modica is the administrator of Sand Lake Surgery Center in Orlando, Fla., an affiliate of Surgical Care Affiliates. Ms. Modica has been in healthcare in the Orlando market for more than 20 years and has been with SCA for two years. Sand Lake is a multispecialty center that performs over 6,200 surgical procedures annually. Ms.  Modica serves as a regional labor champion and is a key resource for all of our centers in Florida.

David Moody, RN, is administrator of Knightsbridge Surgical Center in Columbus, Ohio. He serves on the board of the Ohio Association of Ambulatory Surgery Centers. The Knightsbridge Surgical Center is operated in partnership with OhioHealth physicians.

Teleatha Mortimer serves as administrator of Bloomington (Ind.) Endoscopy Center and serves on Indiana Federation of Ambulatory Surgical Center's board of directors. Founded in 2001, the center is Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care-accredited and Medicare-certified.

Melissa Murphy, RN, is administrator of Mile High Surgery Center in Greenwood Village, Colo. She previously served as a nurse for 10 years. Mile High Surgery Center is a state-licensed, 7,000-square-foot facility.

Linda Nash, MBA, CASC, LHRM, serves on the board of directors of the Ambulatory Surgery Center Association as well as Florida Society of Ambulatory Surgical Centers. She is the administrator at Manatee Surgical Center in Bradenton, Fla. Ms. Nash has been Manatee Surgical Center's administrator for nearly 17 years.

Kecia Norling, RN, CNOR, CASC, is Portland, Ore.-based Northwest Ambulatory Surgery Center's administrator. She is an Ambulatory Surgery Center Association board member as well as a governor-appointed board member of the Oregon Patient Safety Commission. Ms. Norling previously served as president of the Oregon Ambulatory Surgery Center Association. She has experience as a clinical director and nursing director.
 
Joseph G. Ollayos, MHA, CASC, is the administrator of Tri-Cities Surgery Center in Geneva, Ill. Mr. Ollayos has served as the ASC's administrator since August 2006. Prior to joining Tri-Cities Surgery Center, Mr. Ollayos was the business office manager of Elmhurst (Ill.) Outpatient Surgery Center, a position he held for more than seven years.

David Ornelas, JD, is the administrator and CEO of Loveland (Colo.) Surgery Center. He serves on the Colorado Ambulatory Surgery Center Association's board of directors and is a member of CASCA's Government Relations Committee. He received his law degree from St. Paul, Minn.-based William Mitchell College of Law, and he is interested in health policy, economics and legislation.
 
Diana Ostrom, RN, serves as practice administrator of Grossnickle Eye Center in Warsaw, Ind. She oversees the surgery center, which includes six ophthalmologists and five optometrists. Ms. Ostrom is also the president of the Indiana Federation of Ambulatory Surgical Centers.

Nancy Page is the administrator of Southwest Surgical Center in Edina, Minn. She serves as secretary on the board of the Minnesota Ambulatory Surgery Center Association.
 
Larry Parrish is the administrator of Illinois Sports Medicine & Orthopedic Surgery Center in Morton Grove. He has served as the ASC's administrator for more than 10 years. Illinois Sports Medicine & Orthopedic Surgery Center offers services in numerous specialties, including orthopedics, otolaryngology, pain management, plastic surgery and podiatry.

J. David Posch is the administrator of American Surgical Centers II in Roseville, Mich. He is also owner and administrator of American Surgical Centers, which manages several surgery centers. He is a board member of the Detroit Art Institute Founders Junior Council.
 
Michael Powers serves on the Tennessee Ambulatory Surgery Center Association's board of directors. Mr. Powers is the administrator for Children's West Surgery Center in Knoxville, Tenn., a position he has held for more than three years. Before joining Children's West Surgery Center, Mr. Power was the regional service line leader of ambulatory services for Tennova Healthcare , which is headquartered in Knoxville, Tenn.

Jessica Quick, MBA, has served as the administrator of The Colonoscopy Center in Omaha, Neb., since 2011. She oversees the ASC, which includes seven surgeons. Ms. Quick is the president of the Nebraska Association of Independent Ambulatory Centers.
 
Tammy Richardson is the executive director of Community Endoscopy Center in Indianapolis. She has been the center's executive director since April 2012. She is also a member of the Indiana Federation of Ambulatory Surgical Centers.

Gary Richberg, RN, CMPE, CASC, is administrator of Pacific Rim Outpatient Surgery Center in Bellingham, Wash. The center is a 20,000-square-foot facility with five ORs and three procedure rooms.

Catherine Sayers, BSN, MSHA, has served as administrator of Skyline Endoscopy Center in Loveland, Colo., since 2004. She is also director of operations for PINNACLE III. Throughout her career, Ms. Sayers has developed or managed 13 single and multi-specialty ASCs throughout the country. Prior to leading Skyline Endoscopy, Ms. Sayers was director of surgical services at the Orthopaedic Center of the Rockies in Fort Collins, Colo.
 
Lisa Schriver, BSN, RN, CNOR, is currently a member-at-large of the Pennsylvania Ambulatory Surgery Association. She has served as administrator of West Chester, Pa.-based Turk's Head Surgery Center since 2007 and has been a perioperative nurse since 1988. She joined Turk's Head in 2005 as a clinical director. She also played a key part in helping Blue Chip Surgical Centers Partners with a new facility start-up in Virginia in 2013.

Peggy Seidler is the administrator of Northbank Surgical Center in Salem, Ore., an affiliate of Surgical Care Affiliates.  She has led this multispecialty facility, which handles 4,100 cases annually, for nearly 30 years. She recently developed a credentialing organization for SCA that supports 120 facilities and growing. Ms. Seidler serves as the Physician Satisfaction and Teammate Engagement Champion for her region and her facility consistently achieves outstanding scores on these important metrics.   

Seth Silver, MD, is CEO and medical director of The Ambulatory Care Center, a multispecialty center in Vineland, N.J. Trained as an orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Silver also provides care at Vineland-based Reconstructive Orthopedics. Additionally, he is a consultant at BAYADA Home Health Care in Moorestown, N.J., and team physician at Cumberland County College in Vineland. He completed his residency at Brooke Army Medical Center in Fort Sam Houston, Texas.

Robert Simmons is the administrator of WestHealth Surgery Center in Plymouth, Minn. He serves on the board of the Minnesota Ambulatory Surgery Center Association. WestHealth Surgery Center is a Medicare-certified facility that performs, on average, 450 surgeries per month. The facility has six surgery suites and three procedure rooms.
 
Susan Simons RN, BSN, CASC, serves as administrator of Pacific Surgery Center in Poulsbo, Wash., which offers services in nine specialties. She earned her nursing degree from DePauw University in Greencastle, Ind. She serves as treasurer on Washington Ambulatory Surgery Center Association's board of directors.  

Amy Sinder is the administrator of CBC Surgery Center in Crown Point, Ind. The ASC is accredited by The Joint Commission. It offers surgical services in numerous specialties, including gastroenterology, general surgery, urology and ENT.
 
Jeffrey Singerman is the administrator of Manhattan Endoscopy Center in New York City. The ASC is Joint Commission-certified and an American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy center of excellence. The center offers colonoscopies, upper endoscopies and endoscopic ultrasounds.
 
Michael Skaliy, MD, is the CEO of Windward Surgery Center in Alpharetta, Ga. As a physician practicing with Atlanta Spine Specialists, Dr. Skaliy specializes in interventional pain medicine. He treats back pain and spinal disorders. Dr. Skaliy is a Georgia Society of Ambulatory Surgery Centers' board member.

Christine F. Slattery is administrator of St. Louis Spine & Orthopedic Surgery Center in Town and County, Mo. She serves on the board of the Missouri Ambulatory Surgery Center Association. The St. Louis Spine & Orthopedic Surgery Center was founded in 2007 and is Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care-accredited.

Brooke Smith, CASC, is the administrator of Maryland Surgery Center for Women in Rockville. The surgery center is affiliated with Ambulatory Surgical Centers of America. Its physicians offer OB-GYN and urology services.

Amanda Sosnosky, RN, CASC, is administrator of Bellin Orthopedic Surgery Center in Green Bay, Wis. Prior to that, she was the perioperative surgical services manager at Bellin Hospital in Green Bay. The ASC opened in March 2010, through a partnership with Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Specialists of Green Bay and Bellin Health, also in Green Bay.
 
Natalie Soule is a board of directors' member of the Tennessee Ambulatory Surgery Center Association. She currently is the administrator of Premier Orthopedic Surgery Center in Nashville, Tenn. Premier Orthopedic Surgery Center offers orthopedic services, including spine, shoulder, hip, knee, hand, foot and ankle procedures.

James Sprouse is administrator of the Pain Management and Ambulatory Surgery Centers of Paducah (Ky.). The center is 21,000 square feet and offers interventional pain management services.

Bill Stacey is the administrator of Manassas, Va.-based Prince William Ambulatory Surgery Center and president of the Virginia Ambulatory Surgery Association. He oversees the ASC, featuring four ORs and four endoscopy procedure rooms.

Jeanette Stack is the administrator of St. Cloud (Minn.) Surgical Center, an affiliate of Surgical Care Affiliates. She has pioneered innovation since 1972 when the center opened; just the second ASC in the country. This multispecialty center was the first medical facility in its market to perform Lap Choles and hernias, endoscopic breast augmentation, and LASIK and the first ASC to perform outpatient total joints and anterior cervical discectomy and fusions. The center has performed more than 300 joint cases since October 2014, and completed over 11,300 cases in 2015.

Allison Stock, RN, JD, CASC, is the administrator/executive director at Great Lakes Surgical Center in Southfield, Mich. Most recently, she served as an adjunct professor at Oakland Community College in Rochester, Mich., before which she was director of nursing at Great Lakes Surgical Center. She earned her law degree at Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing.  

Benita Tapia, RN, CASC, is administrator of 90210 Surgery Medical Center and Precision Ambulatory Surgery Center, both in Beverly Hills, Calif. 90210 Surgery Medical Center offers foot and ankle surgery, breast cancer surgery, general surgery, gynecology, hand surgery, ophthalmology, orthopedics services, pain management, plastic surgery, spine surgery and urology.  

Doug Tonokawa is the administrator of Eye Surgery Center of Hawaii in Honolulu. Mr. Tonokawa oversees the surgery center, which performs about 9,000 procedures annually. Thirteen surgeons serve patients at the ASC.
 
Kelly Trott Theodosopoulos, RN, is administrator of Tuscarawas Ambulatory Surgery Center in Dover, Ohio. She serves on the board of the Ohio Association of Ambulatory Surgery Centers.

Landon Tucker, CASC, MBA, is the president of the Louisiana Ambulatory Surgery Center Association. He is currently the administrator of Houma Outpatient Surgery Center in Metairie, La. Houma Outpatient Surgery Center offers podiatric surgery, plastic and reconstructive surgery, pre-admission diagnostic testing, ENT surgery, general surgery and OB-GYN surgery.

LoAnn Vande Leest, RN, MBA-H, CNOR, CASC, CHSP, is the CEO of Northwest Michigan Surgery Center in Traverse City. She serves as second vice president on the board of the Michigan Ambulatory Surgery Association.

Kim Van De Ven, RN, BSN, MBA, serves as administrator of Banner Estrella Surgery Center in Phoenix. She oversees the marketing and financial aspects of the surgery center, which includes four operating rooms and two endoscopy suites. She is also the interim CNO for Banner Surgery Centers and serves on the Arizona Ambulatory Surgery Center Association's board of directors. Ms. Van De Ven received her nursing degree from Valparaiso (Ind.) University.
 
Andy W. Waldo, IV, is the administrator of Endoscopy Center of Monroe (La). Mr. Waldo is a board member of the Louisiana Ambulatory Surgery Center Association. He is also a managing partner of Delta Research Partners.

Philipp Wall, MD, RPVI, is the founder of Arizona Center for Minimally Invasive Surgery, which became an American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities-accredited ASC in 2011, and Arizona Vein and Vascular Center in Chandler. Dr. Wall opened a second ASC in 2013, and he opened additional ASC locations in 2014 and 2015. A vascular surgeon, Dr. Wall has obtained three patients—and is in the process of pursuing more—for a hybrid surgery center, which combines a conventional operating room with fixed imaging where specialists can perform procedures with C-arms.

Suzi Walton is the administrator of Ohio Surgery Center of Columbus. She serves on the Ohio Association of Ambulatory Surgery Centers' board. Opened in 1998, Ohio Surgery Center surgeons offer otolaryngology as well as hand and microsurgery services.

Andrew Weiss, CASC, is currently the administrator of The Endo Center at Voorhees (N.J.), a position he has held for nearly 13 years. He is the president of the New Jersey Association of Ambulatory Surgery Centers. Previously, he served as treasurer for NJAASC.
 
Teresa Wellard is the administrator of Grand Teton Surgical Center in Idaho Falls, Idaho. The surgery center has offered endoscopy services for more than 15 years. Ms. Wellard is also the president-elect of the Idaho Ambulatory Surgery Center Association.
 
Julie Wester, RN, serves as CEO of Arizona Gastroenterology & Arizona Digestive Institute in Tucson. She earned her nursing degree from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Va. Ms. Wester is the president of the Arizona Ambulatory Surgery Center Association.

John Whitfield, JD, ThD, CMPE, is the administrator of Digestive Health Endoscopy ASC and practice administrator of Digestive Health Center, based in Ocean Springs, Miss. He is also manager and director with Life Moments Transition and CEO and president of American Management Consultants, which offers a variety of personal, professional and corporate development seminars and workshops.
 
Beth Williams is the administrator of Grandview Surgery Center in Camp Hill, Pa., a Surgical Care Affiliates facility. Recently, Ms. Williams has focused on preparing her center for expanded surgical offerings. Grandview is a joint venture with Geisinger Health System and completes 4,800 cases per year. Ms. Williams is looking forward to participating in the SCA Medical Missions program in Honduras in June, and has encouraged her teammates to consider joining a brigade as well.   

Cindy A. Young, RN, BSN, CASC, is the administrative director of Surgery Center of Farmington (Mo.). She received her nursing degree from Central Methodist University in Fayette, Mo. Ms. Young serves on the board of the Ambulatory Surgery Center Association and previously served on the board of the Missouri Ambulatory Surgery Center Association.

Becky Ziegler-Otis, RHIA, CPHQ, CHC, CASC, is the administrator of the Ambulatory Surgical Center of Stevens Point (Wis.). She previously served as policy manager of Klasinski Clinic in Stevens Point, and before then, she served as administrative director of process effectiveness/compliance officer at Bay Area Medical Center in Marinette, Wis. She is a team manager for Destination Imagination, a nonprofit organization.  
 
Bryan Zowin is the administrator of Peoria (Ill.) Day Surgery Center. Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care-accredited, Peoria Day Surgery Center offers surgical services in spine surgery, orthopedics, pain management, general surgery, ophthalmology, plastic surgery, anesthesiology, OB/GYN, otolaryngology, podiatry, hand surgery and urology. The ASC can accommodate those patients needing to stay up to 48 hours at its recovery care center.
