DISC Sports & Spine Center (Marina del Rey Calif.). The surgery center includes two locations — the Marina del Rey location features three operating rooms and the Newport Beach location includes two ORs. The ORs are 800 to 1,000 square feet. The surgery center offers an array of orthopedic and spine procedures, including minimally invasive spine procedures and advanced arthroscopic techniques. The surgery center is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care and serves as the official medical providers for Red Bull America athletes and Los Angeles Kings.

First State Surgery Center (Newark, Del.). The physician-owned surgery center includes four ORs. In 2013, 21 physicians performed 5,600 orthopedic, spine, pain management and podiatry cases, and the center is on target for performing 5,400 to 6,000 cases in 2014, according to Raymond M. Krett Jr., the administrator and director of nursing. The surgery center is also committed to providing charity care for underserved populations. It contacts social services agencies, community centers and schools in search of the uninsured or underinsured in the state who are healthy enough to have outpatient orthopedic surgery. The facility is currently undergoing a 1.3 million dollar state-approved renovation without down time, says Mr. Krett.

Gulf Coast Surgery Center (Sarasota, Fla.). Established in 2003, the surgery center includes five operating rooms, each encompassing 400 square feet. The surgery center itself is 17,179 square feet and its medical staff includes orthopedic surgeons, neurosurgeons, spine surgeons, general surgeons and pain management specialists.

Hazelton (Pa.) Surgery Center. The surgery center features four ORs and two procedure rooms. The center's administrator is Tracy Lloyd, and it is accredited by The Joint Commission. It offers surgical services in numerous specialties, such as general surgery, gastroenterology, gynecology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, pain management and ENT. It is affiliated with Lehigh Valley Health Network in Allentown, Pa.

Main Street Specialty Surgery Center (Orange, Calif.). The surgery center has five ORs and two procedure rooms. Around 7,000 procedures are performed at the center annually. Established in 2000, the center is accredited by Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care and Medicare. It offers care in a wide array of specialties, including orthopedics, gastroenterology, pain management, general surgery, podiatry and urology.

New England Baptist Hospital Outpatient Care Center (Dedham, Mass.). The center includes eight class C operating rooms, two of which are 400 square feet while the other six are 500 square feet. It also features 26 bays and one enclosed isolation room in a combined preoperative/post-anesthesia care unit. Two additional rooms that are designated for pain management treatment are also located within the Pre-op/PACU suite. Standardization of the bays allows the capacity to flex bay use as needed. The ASC also has a full-service central sterile processing department. The ORs are equipped with a laminar flow system, LED surgical lighting, WIFI and PACs system. The center's primary focus is providing sports medicine and orthopedic services.

Orthopedic Surgery Center (Gainesville, Fla.). Established in 2000, the surgery center features five operating rooms and 15 recovery bays. It is a 16,500-square-foot fully licensed facility and is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. The center is a part of The Orthopaedic Institute a private practice group comprised of 27 physicians providing the complete spectrum of musculoskeletal care, including sports medicine services and rheumatology.

Orthopedic Surgery Center of Orange County (Newport Beach, Calif.). The surgery center features four ORs. Established in 1999, the center is a result of a partnership between Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach and a group of surgeons who practiced at Hoag. The freestanding, 14,000-square-foot center is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. It offers a number of services such as pain management, foot and ankle, hand and upper extremity and sports medicine procedures.

Raleigh (N.C.) Orthopedic Surgery Center. The surgery center features four operating rooms, seven preoperative bays, 17 recovery days and two procedure rooms. It is a joint venture between Raleigh Orthopaedic Clinic and Rex Healthcare and was opened in 2013. The 27,707-square-foot facility is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. Its physicians offer hand, wrist and elbow surgery, shoulder surgery, hip surgery, knee surgery, foot and ankle surgery and pain management procedures.

Western PA Surgery Center (Wexford, Pa.). The surgery center features five ORs. It is a multispecialty center, but is orthopedics-driven. It provides surgical services in ENT, orthopedics, urology, ophthalmology and oculoplastic surgery. The freestanding center includes more than 20 physicians.
