Michael Warne: I would like to see the government investing into low income communities to open up more opportunities for people to enter medical school through scholarships, loan forgiveness, STEM education and pipeline programs. I think that’s where you start. One of the most simple formulas to the state of healthcare right now is too many patients, not enough providers, right? And it often seems like the only people who have the opportunity to become a healthcare provider need to start off in an extremely privileged situation to even consider that. These programs can make medical school more widely accessible, diversify the healthcare workforce, address the provider shortage, reduce disparities and promote equity.
