Cindy Key, the former manager of Alabama Outpatient Surgery Center, was named chief nursing officer of Tenet Healthcare's Walker Baptist Medical Center.

Ms. Key has been with Jasper, Ala.-based Walker Baptist Medical Center since 2011, when it acquired Jasper-based Alabama Outpatient Surgery Center. She served as director of procedural services, nurse manager of orthopedics and director of maternal/infant services before being named interim chief nursing officer in May 2018.

"Cindy has proven herself a tremendous asset throughout her tenure at Walker and in particular over the past year in the role of interim CNO," said Walker Baptist Medical Center CEO Bob Phillips. "We are extremely pleased to name her as our permanent CNO for Walker Baptist Medical Center. Her talent, experience and patient-focused demeanor will continue to be of tremendous value in this position."
