Matt Stone has been named president of Dallas-based United Surgical Partners International, the San Antonio Business Journal reported March 28.
According to his LinkedIn profile, Mr. Stone previously served as the Group CEO of Central, South and West Texas for USPI’s parent company Tenet. He has also served as the CEO of Northeast Baptist Hospital and Resolute Health Hospital.
Tenet has also appointed Bill Waechter as CEO of San Antonio’s Baptist Health System and its affiliated Alamo City, Texas, and New Braunfels, Texas, organizations, according to the report.
USPI is the largest ASC operator, holding an 8.1% share of the ASC market. It has interests in 518 ASCs (375 consolidated) and 25 surgical hospitals (seven consolidated) across 37 states.
