Here are five key notes:
1. Ms. Peterson will become the ASC’s administrator on July 24 in addition to her role as business office manager of Point of Rocks Surgery Center.
2. Monocacy Surgery Center features orthopedic surgery, pain management, otolaryngology, podiatry and neurosurgery. The ASC is affiliated with SurgCenter Development.
3. For the past three years, Ms. Peterson has been a business office manager with SurgCenter Development ASCs. During that time, she has negotiated contracts with suppliers and vendors, developed credentialing files for all personnel and participated in prepreparation for an accreditation survey.
4. Ms. Peterson’s previous experience includes a year as the surgical financial coordinator at The Orthopaedic Center in Rockville, Md., and seven years as a customer service and communications manager at Nordstrom.
5. Earlier this year, Ms. Peterson graduated from the University of Maryland University College with a bachelor’s degree in management studies and a minor in human resources that included a focus on healthcare administration.
