Here are four ASC leaders who made headlines in the last month, as reported by Becker's since Sept. 13:

Five ASC leaders recently connected with Becker's to share how their ASCs have evolved to ensure success in the ever-changing healthcare landscape.

Derek Steinbacher, MD, Chief of Craniofacial and Oral Surgery at Yale New Haven (Conn.) Health, joined Becker's to discuss private practice versus employment in the current market. 

David Kim, MD, was recently appointed CEO of MemorialCare Medical Foundation, a Fountain Valley, Calif.-based medical group encompassing MemorialCare Medical Group, Greater Newport Physicians and more than 200 outpatient care centers.

Efficiency leads the way in technology adoption in the outpatient setting.

This ASC administrator has big plans for her surgery center if she wins the lottery. 

United Surgical Partners International, AmSurg, SCA Health, HCA Healthcare and Surgery Partners lead the ASC market by number of centers.

Internal medicine hospitals saw the highest increase in pay in 2023 compared to last year, according to Sullivan Cotter's 2022-23 Physician Compensation and Productivity Report. 

Eric Evans, CEO of Surgery Partners, joined the board of directors for Teladoc, a virtual care company.

Eric Evans joined Surgery Partners in April 2019 as the COO and became CEO in January 2020. Despite the pandemic, Mr. Evans has grown the company significantly during his tenure.
