Optum’s leadership shakeup: 3 moves to know

Here are three leadership moves former or current Optum executives have made since Jan. 1:

1. Optum named Valerie Barckhoff senior vice president of revenue cycle transformation. Ms. Barckhoff has more than 30 years of experience in revenue cycle transformation, consulting and strategic operations.

2. Rodney Plante exited his role as senior vice president and CIO of Optum Health – Care Delivery in the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic regions to become chief technology officer of management services organization Orthopedic Care Partners. Prior to becoming a regional CIO, Mr. Plante was the vice president and CIO of Optum’s ProHealth Care and Riverside Medical Groups.

3. Providence Clinical Network named Sam Bajaj COO, who most recently served as COO of Optum California, effective March 31. At Optum he oversaw a $7 billion portfolio and led efforts to integrate operations across six legacy care-delivery organizations.
