Ophthalmology professor Dr. Haydee Bazan inducted into special fellow class — 3 insights

1. Dr. Bazan will be a gold fellow. Dr. Bazan was first named an ARVO fellow in 2009.

2. She earned her doctorate from Bahía Blanca, Argentina-based Universidad Nacional del Sur. She’s joined LSU Health in 1981 as an assistant professor, becoming a professor in 1993.

3. She has conducted several studies for the National Eye Institute where she serves as a special emphasis panel reviewer.
