New York system names medical director of ambulatory services

Far Rockaway, N.Y.-based Episcopal Health Services has appointed Allen Cherson, DO, as medical director of ambulatory services.

In the role, Dr. Cherson will help improve the patient experience, ambulatory efficiency, quality assurance and access to care, according to a March 25 news release from Episcopal Health Services. 

He has three decades of experience in healthcare and joins Episcopal Health Services from AdvantageCare Physicians, where he served as medical director of urgent care and telemedicine. 

Dr. Cherson is a fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians and a diplomat of the American Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners, the release said.
