Employed physicians’ attitudes about their autonomy have remained consistent over the last decade, according to Medscape’s “Employed Physicians Report 2023.”

Medscape surveyed 1,003 physicians across more than 29 specialties from March 10 to May 31. 

Here’s how employed physicians feel about their autonomy:

  • Very satisfied/satisfied: 50 percent
  • Neutral: 28 percent
  • Very unsatisfied/unsatisfied: 23 percent
