Highmark Health taps 2 for board — 4 insights

Highmark Health added former JPMorgan executive Debbie Demchak and former Richard King Mellon Foundation director Scott Izzo to its board.

What you should know:

1. Ms. Demchak currently serves on the boards of The Pittsburgh Promise, Shady Side Academy, Bethlehem Haven and Fred Rogers Productions. She previously served as vice president of institutional fixed income sales at JPMorgan.

2. Mr. Izzo has served on several boards, including Western Pennsylvania Conservancy, the Allegheny Conference on Community Development, and Regional Industrial Development Corp., among others.

3. Highmark Health board chairman Joseph Guyaux praised Ms. Demchak's and Mr. Izzo's leadership experience. "They both share a deep commitment to creating stronger communities and improving the quality of life in our region through economic development, health and human services, youth development, education and environmental conservation," he said.

4. Highmark Health is the second-largest integrated healthcare delivery and financing network in the U.S.
