The implant, called the AcrySof IQ PanOptix lens, is manufactured by Alcon and corrects vision for reading and computer distance. The implant can also be used in surgeries for younger patients who want to be able to see without glasses or contacts.
“We’ve been waiting for this technology for several years. It allows us to give our patients greater independence from glasses than ever before,” said Jonathan Jay Levin, MD, medical director at Horizon Eye Specialists.
