Denver-based Colorado Urology has named Megan Rood as its new CEO, according to an Aug. 31 news release.

Ms. Rood brings more than 20 years of Colorado healthcare leadership experience to the role, with a background spanning physician practices and ASCs. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and an MBA focused on healthcare management and psychology, both from Regis University.

Ali Sarram, MD, Colorado Urology’s practice president, said Ms. Rood “brings a wealth of healthcare leadership experience, deep understanding of our market, and genuine commitment to supporting both patients and providers.”

Colorado Urology operates multiple locations across the Denver metro area and integrates radiation oncology, interventional radiology andASCs alongside urology care delivered by its urologists and advanced practice providers. The practice is affiliated with United Urology Group, a management services organization operating across Arizona, Maryland, Delaware, Colorado and Tennessee.

Ms. Rood’s appointment positions Colorado Urology to expand access as demand grows for integrated, community-based urologic care in the Denver market.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
