Jesse Selber, MD, has been named director of surgical services at Banner Health in the Phoenix Market and chair of the department of surgery at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix.
Dr. Selber is a pioneer of complex cancer reconstruction and is credited with performing the world’s first skull, scalp, kidney and pancreas transplant. He has written more than 215 peer-reviewed publications and has given more than 450 national and international lectures, according to a Sept. 17 news release from the University of Arizona.
Prior to joining Banner Health and the University of Arizona, Dr. Selber served as physician executive and senior vice president of strategy and growth at Corewell Health.
In addition, he served as director of clinical research, vice chair and acting chair of the department of plastic surgery at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.
He assumed the two new roles on Aug. 31, the release said.
