ASC nurse manager receives $5K scholarship

Peggy Powell, BSN, RN, a nurse manager at Rockford (Ill.) Ambulatory Surgery Center, received a $5,000 scholarship Oct. 10, Patch reports.

Three details:

1. Western Governors University in Salt Lake City awarded Ms. Powell the Linda Knodel Leaders in Nursing and Health Scholarship.

2. The quarterly award goes to WGU students who demonstrate “spirit and commitment to nursing leadership.”

3. Ms. Powell graduated from WGU with her BSN in August. She is now pursuing a Master of Science in Nursing-Leadership and Management from the online university.
