ASC leader to know: Dr. R. Blake Curd of Surgical Management Professionals

South Dakota Senator R. Blake Curd, MD, R-12, is chairman of Surgical Management Professionals‘ board of directors. Surgical Management Professionals acquires, manages and develops ASCs and physician-owned hospitals.

An orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Curd focuses on hand surgery, congenital hand reconstruction, microvascular surgery, tissue transfer and upper extremity surgery. He practices at Orthopedic Institute Sioux Falls (S.D.).  His other leadership responsibilities include board member of Medical Facilities Corp. and president of Physician Hospitals of America.

Dr. Curd has represented South Dakota’s District 12 since June 2013. He was on the South Dakota Legislative from January 2009 to January 2011.
