USPI names Brett Brodnax CEO — 5 insights

Addison, Texas-based United Surgical Partners International appointed Brett Brodnax CEO, effective immediately. 

"Brett Brodnax is one of the most gifted and most centered healthcare leaders in the country," said Scott Becker, publisher of Becker's Healthcare and Partner at McGuireWoods. "He is an outstanding leader."

Here's what you need to know:

1. Mr. Brodnax previously served as USPI's president and chief development officer.

2. He succeeds Bill Wilcox, who will remain USPI's chairman and Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare's vice chairman.

3. Mr. Brodnax will report to Tenet Healthcare's CEO and Chairman Ron Rittenmeyer.

4. On Mr. Brodnax's appointment, Mr. Wilcox said, "Brett's appointment is well-deserved recognition of the great contributions and leadership he has provided to USPI during his nearly 20-year tenure."

5. Mr. Brodnax said Mr. Wilcox is a friend and a mentor. Mr. Brodnax said, "I am committed to continuing to build on Bill's legacy, ensuring we stay true to our mission of treating each and every patient and their family members as if they were our own."
