'U.S. News & World Report' names top 10 hospitals for ophthalmology

U.S. News & World Report released its 2019 Best Hospital rankings July 30.

U.S. News determined the rankings using three years of expert opinion from physician specialists. The top hospitals that appeared on the list were recommended by at least 5 percent of ophthalmology specialists.

Here are the top 10 hospitals for ophthalmology:

1. Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami Hospital and Clinics
2. Wills Eye Hospital at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital (Philadelphia)
3. Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins Hospital (Baltimore)
4. Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary at Massachusetts General Hospital (Boston)
5. Stein and Doheny Eye Institutes at UCLA Medical Center (Los Angeles)
6. University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics (Iowa City)
7. Duke University Hospital (Durham, N.C.)
8. Kellogg Eye Center at Michigan Medicine (Ann Arbor)
9. UCSFMedical Center (San Francisco)
10. Cole Eye Institute at the Cleveland Clinic
