The Competency & Credentialing Institute named Wyomissing, Pa.-based Reading Hospital SurgiCenter at Spring Ridge and the North Las Vegas-based VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System dual recipients of the 2018 TrueNorth Award.

1. Reading Hospital SurgiCenter at Spring Ridge is affiliated with Reading Hospital and Tower Health, both based in West Reading, Pa.

2. The TrueNorth award recognizes perioperative nursing facilities that guide nursing staff to engage in lifelong learning and provide continuous outstanding patient care.

3. All nurses at the Reading Hospital SurgiCenter at Spring Ridge hold Certified Nurse Operating Room credentials.

4. In an effort to maintain low infection and complication rates at the facility, Tower Health provides increased compensation for the CNOR credential and reimbursement for testing costs.
