The Toledo (Ohio) Clinic, an outpatient surgery center, introduced high school students to robotic surgery technology to foster interest in healthcare careers, CBS affiliate WTOL11 reported.

1. Sarath Palakodeti, DO, a surgeon at the Toledo Clinic, said students are the future innovators of the surgical field. The students got to see firsthand how to use a da Vinci Xi surgical robot.

2. Dr. Palakodeti said innovations in the surgical field are "all about the patient."

3. He said getting students excited about careers in healthcare is one of his goals.
