Tenet Vice Chairman Keith Pitts to retire after six years

Laura Dyrda -

Tenet Vice Chairman Keith Pitts plans to retire from his post in August.

He joined Tenet in 2013 after the company acquired Vanguard Health Systems, where he was vice chairman. He also has experience as chairman and CEO of Mariner Post-Acute Network and executive vice president and CFO of OrNda HealthCorp, a Tenet predecessor.

"Keith has made numerous contributions to Tenet, our predecessor organizations, and the broader healthcare industry during periods of significant transformation. We deeply appreciate his leadership and the impact he's had in helping shape our portfolio and further differentiate our business," said Executive Chairman and CEO Ron Rittenmeyer.

Tenet operates 65 hospitals and around 500 other healthcare facilities, including ASCs through United Surgical Partners International's network. It also operates Conifer Health Solutions, a revenue cycle management and value-based care services provider. The company has grown to include 110,000 employees.

After retiring on Aug. 31, Mr. Pitts will remain as an advisor to Tenet for two years to ensure a smooth transition. "We wish him all the best on this next chapter and will always consider him a distinguished alumnus of the company," said Mr. Rittenmeyer.
