Regent Surgical Health named an ASC industry veteran its new vice president of business development.

Four things to know:

1. Scott Bergman joined Regent Surgical Health as vice president of business development, where he will work with physician groups and hospital systems as the company merges and acquires new facilities. He will also support the company through developing de novo ASCs.

2. Mr. Bergman was director of business development for an orthopedic center prior to joining Regent. He also spent time as administrator of a multispecialty ASC. "His deep knowledge of the ASC industry, especially in orthopedics, and the track record he has established for business management and development success will help accelerate growth of Regent's portfolio of health system and ASC joint ventures," said Regent Chief Development Officer Thomas Crossen.

3. In addition to his new role with Regent, Mr. Bergman is a board member of the New Jersey ASC Association.

4. Regent Surgical Health now has 23 ASCs it developed, manages and owns, including 17 joint venture centers. Nine of Regent's centers perform outpatient total joint replacement.
