Mount Sinai Health adds two ophthalmologists — 3 insights

New York City-based Mount Sinai Health System added ophthalmologists Louis Pasquale, MD, and Douglas Fredrick, MD, to leadership positions.

Here's what you should know:

1. Dr. Pasquale was named The Mount Sinai Hospital and Mount Sinai Queens' ophthalmology site chair, both in New York City. He also serves as Mount Sinai Health System's translational ophthalmology research vice chair.

2. Dr. Frederick was named New York City-based Icahn School of Medicine's deputy chair for education as well as pediatric ophthalmology chief.

3. Mount Sinai Health System's System Chair of Ophthalmology James Tsai, MD, said, "The New York City metropolitan region deserves to have one of the world’s leading centers for ophthalmology and vision research, and patient care. I am delighted to welcome these outstanding recruits to help us push the boundaries of discovery and development of new treatments and approaches for complex, blinding eye diseases."
