Dallas-based Key Whitman Eye Center's Jeffrey Whitman, MD, performed another procedure with Operation Sight, Focus Daily News reports.

What you should know:

1. Dr. Whitman repaired the eyesight of DeSoto, Texas resident James Ross, 51. Mr. Ross lost his job after a cataract surgery left him legally blind in one eye.

2. Dr. Whitman performed the surgery supported by Operation Sight.

3. Mr. Ross' sight was restored to 22/20 from 20/300. He reclaimed his commercial driving job and is back to enjoying life.

4. Operation Sight provides resources to Americans unable to access or afford eye surgery. Dr. Whitman performs several surgeries through Operation Sight yearly.
