Healthcare Realty Trust chairman emeritus David Emery dies

Nashville, Tenn.-based Healthcare Realty Trust's chairman emeritus and director, David Emery, died Sept. 30.

Mr. Emery led the team that founded Healthcare Realty Trust in 1992 and oversaw its IPO in 1993. He led the company for 25 years, watching it grow into a large-scale operation that now owns 200 properties valued at more than $5.7 billion.

Healthcare Realty Trust President and CEO Todd Meredith said: "On behalf of all my colleagues at Healthcare Realty, we extend our deepest sympathies to David's family. We are saddened by the loss of a dear friend, mentor and extraordinary human being."

Mr. Emery was 75.
