1. Dr. Wetzel said he plans on increasing orthopedic services in network, while also improving patient access.

2. He most recently was a professor of orthopedic surgery at Temple University in Philadelphia.

3. Dr. Wetzel is the North American Spine Society’s immediate past president.

4. After earning his medical degree from Philadelphia-based University of Pennsylvania Medicine, he completed a residency at New Haven, Conn.-based Yale University and then fellowships at New Orleans-based Tulane University and Yale University.
