Carolinas Hospital System welcomes 2 new physicians

Sam Rahman, MD, an interventional cardiologist, and Vera Zaraket, MD, a gastroenterologist, joined the Florence, S.C.-based Carolinas Hospital System staff.

 Dr. Rahman is board-certified in echocardiography, internal medicine, cardiovascular medicine, interventional cardiology and nuclear cardiology. Previously, Dr. Rahman served as an interventional cardiologist in Lima, OH-based Mercy Health/St. Rita’s Hospital.

Dr. Rahman received his medical degree from the University of Damascus in Syria. He completed his residency in internal medicine at The University Hospital in Damascus, Syria.

Dr. Zaraket received her medical degree and completed her residency in internal medicine at St. Joseph University of Beirut in Beirut, Lebanon. There, she also underwent a fellowship in hepatology and gastroenterology. She is board-certified in internal medicine.
