ASCA reported around 200 new facilities joined the organization in 2017.

ASCA's mission is to represent ASCs at the national level and provide resources for high quality, cost effective care. The organization also offers educational webinars, benchmarking and regulatory training for centers and industry advocates to make an impact at the local level.

Each year, ASCA holds an annual meeting to bring different branches of the industry together and releases the ASC Salary and Benefits Survey. Members also have access to its ASC Focus magazine and government updates as well as ASCA Connect, an online community for ASC professionals.

The new membership class includes multispecialty and single-specialty centers focused on orthopedics, pain management, endoscopy, urology and ophthalmology. New members include Richmond, Va.-based Medarva Stony Point Surgery Center; Edina, Minn.-based Twin Cities Surgery Center; Kaiser Permanente Bellevue (Wash.) ASC; and the New Brunswick, N.J.-based Ambulatory Surgery Pavilion at Robert Wood Johnson.
