5 things to know about SurgCenter Development’s CEO Dr. Stacey Berner

Stacey Berner, MD, is the CEO and principal of SurgCenter Development, an ASC development company that operates over 100 physician-focused ASCs across the U.S.

Here are five things to know about Dr. Berner:

1. Dr. Berner joined SurgCenter Development in March of 2012 as a principal and served as president before becoming CEO in January 2016. He has over two decades of experience working in the healthcare industry.

2. SurgCenter Development was established in 2002 and has over 2,220 physician partners. Dr. Berner also serves as a managing partner of the company.

3. Before joining SurgCenter Development, Dr. Bermer was a hand and upper extremity specialist at the Baltimore-based Advanced Center for Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine. He joined the practice in 1994.

4. Dr. Berner earned his medical degree from the Boston-based Tufts University School of Medicine. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the Richmond-based Medical College of Virginia.

5. He completed a fellowship in hand and microsurgery at the New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery.
