Cardinal Health surveyed more than 170 hospital executives to learn their thoughts on in-house pharmacy, external consultants and innovation.
Three insights into the results:
1. More than 50 percent of leaders lack the time and resources needed to focus on innovation.
2. Sixty-eight percent of executives don't leverage pharmacy when considering innovation opportunities.
3. When executives do make pharmacy improvements, 50 percent of the time they're reacting to outside changes.
