The Reach overtube is designed to help splint the endoscope from the lower esophageal sphincter to the pylorus, offering a more direct path to reach small bowel findings, according to the company.
“Looping of the endoscope in the stomach prevents the endoscopist from achieving a depth that may be required to reach findings in the small bowel,” said Gulam Khan, US Endoscopy president, CEO and co-chairman, in the release. “The Reach overtube is a simple, cost effective solution to minimize endoscope looping and allow the targeted area to be reached.”
US Endoscopy is headquartered in Mentor, Ohio.
