The new IBD center will be named for Frederik Paustian, MD, the first specialty-trained gastroenterologist in the state, according to the report. The donation will in part fund an endowed chair for the new director of the center, who has yet to be named.

UNMC gastroenterologist Michael Sorrell, MD, will lead the efforts to recruit staff for the IBD Center.
