Portland-based The Oregon Clinic President Craig Fausel, MD, is set to retire after 34 years in practice, the Portland Business Journal reports.

1. Dr. Fausel will serve through the end of the year. He has been the clinic’s president for the last 11 years.

2. During his tenure, he notably strived to keep the clinic independent.

3. Surgeon Richard Jamison, MD, will serve as president-elect for the rest of 2018, before beginning his three-year term in January 2019.

4. Dr. Fausel earned his medical degree from SUNY Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, N.Y. He completed an internship, residency and fellowship at Denver-based University of Colorado Health Science Center.

5. He is an American College of Gastroenterology fellow.
