The Center for Digestive Health receives ASGE Endoscopy Unit Recognition

The American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy recognized The Center for Digestive Health at the Plainsboro, N.J.-based Princeton Medical Center for its commitment to providing safe, high-quality GI endoscopy care.

The Center for Digestive Health is one of 18 New Jersey facilities and 404 facilities nationwide honored through the ASGE Endoscopy Unit Recognition Program. Certification through the ASGE Endoscopy Unit Recognition Program is based on commitment to specialized training and adherence to ASGE guidelines on privileging, quality assurance and reprocessing along with CDC infection control guidelines.

The center was established in 2017 and is located in the Medical Arts Pavilion, a medical office building attached to the PMC. Many of the endoscopic procedures the center arranges are performed at the Stephen & Roxanne Distler Center for Ambulatory Surgery, which is also in the pavilion. Many of the ASC's 32 nurses, 12 of whom work in the endoscopy area, maintain GI certification, keeping up-to-date with the latest GI technology.
