The busiest three months in GI-based PE investment

Since the first deal of the great gastroenterology private equity investment rush of the late 2010s closed in September 2016, never has a three-month span featured more activity than September to November this year. To date, three of the five major platforms have made investments, with two of the platforms making a flurry of investments since September.

Here is every investment made since September 2019:

September 2019: Dallas-based GI Alliance continues to rapidly grow, partnering with Beaumont-based Southeast Texas Gastroenterology Associates.

Miami-based Gastro Health expands outside of the southeastern market, acquiring Seattle-based Puget Sound Gastroenterology.

October 2019: GI Alliance enters into a partnership with Phoenix-based Arizona Digestive Health, growing its affiliated network to more than 275 physicians in four states. GI Alliance then acquires San Antonio Gastroenterology Associates and San Antonio Digestive Disease Consultants.

November 2019: GI Alliance acquires Indianapolis Gastroenterology and Hepatology, expanding into a fifth state, and then partners with Amarillo Endoscopy Center.

Atlanta-based United Digestive partners with Savannah, Ga.-based Center for Digestive & Liver Health.

Gastro Health acquires Fairfax-based Gastroenterology Associates of Northern Virginia.
