The 10 most, least expensive Texas hospitals to get a colonoscopy

Cleveland, Texas-based Texas Emergency Hospital is the most expensive hospital to receive a colonoscopy in the state while William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital in Dallas is the least expensive, according to information from data analytics company Hospital Pricing Specialists.

Hospital Pricing Specialists created an annual pricing survey that analyzed more than 5,000 U.S. hospitals by examining hospital machine-readable files and public claims. The goal of the survey was to analyze the effects of the price transparency law on CMS-defined shoppable codes, according to a May 25 email to Becker’s from the company.

1. $64,433 — Texas Emergency Hospital (Cleveland)

2. $46,483 — The Woodlands Specialty Hospital

3. $25,163 — Altus Houston Hospital

4. $24,286 — Rio Grande Regional Hospital (McAllen)

5. $15,900 — Covenant Medical Center (Lubbock)

6. $15,000 — Crescent Medical Center Lancaster (Lancaster)

7. $14,234 — Resolute Health Hospital (New Braunfels)

8. $12,558 — Christus Trinity Clinic (Jacksonville)

9. $11,771 — Baptist Medical Center (San Antonio)

10. $11,510 — Medical City Denton
