New York State Senator Gustavo Rivera, D-33rd, and Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz, D-81st, visited New York City-based Advanced Endoscopy Center on Aug. 10.

Here’s what you should know:

1. The legislators visited the ASC for national ASC week.

2. Advanced Endoscopy Center is a four-room surgery center. It opened in May 2007.

3. The center is actively engaged in community outreach efforts. It works with the Colon Cancer Challenge Foundation to offer colon cancer screenings. The New York City Community Cares Project recognized the center twice for its work with underserved populations.
