South Carolina Medical Endoscopy System Adopts New Colonoscopy Screening Tool

 
Mayo Clinic Gastroenterologist Piet de Groen, MD, developed a video method to assist physicians in evaluating the quality of the colonoscopy screenings performed.

The first installation of his quality measurement tool, ENDOMETRIC, took place this week at the South Carolina Medical Endoscopy Center in Columbia.

 

Dr. de Groen is a professor of medicine and consultant in gastroenterology and hepatology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. He said the screening also has the potential to save the healthcare system $40 billion.
