Patient-centered care has become the new, or rather renewed, mantra in healthcare. How can physicians put the patient first?
Shawn Khodadadian, MD, a gastroenterology with Manhattan (N.Y.) Gastroenterology has found one way to focus more on the patient. He is now offering same-day appoints for GI patients.
“When a person has pain they simply cannot wait a day or two to see a doctor. I am happy to be offering same-day emergency gastroenterology appointments,” he said.
Savvy physicians will begin to seek ways to demonstrate patient-focused and value-based care, whether it be through strategies like same-day appointments or other avenues.
