Rome Hospital Foundation names Dr. Ajay Goel its ‘Physician of the Year’ — 4 insights

Rome (N.Y.) Memorial Hospital will bestow Physician of the Year honors on Ajay Goel, MD, the Rome Sentinel reports.

Here’s what you should know:

1. Dr. Goel has practiced gastroenterology for 29 years.

2. He earned his medical degree from Delhi, India-based Maulana Azad College University. He completed an internship, residency and fellowship at New York City-based SUNY Downstate Medical Center.

3. Dr. Goel has been on the staff of Rome Memorial Hospital since July 1988. He is a past president of the hospital’s medical staff.

4. The Rome Hospital Foundation selected him because he is “highly regarded at the hospital and in the community for his quality and patient centered care,” said hospital President David Lundquist.
