Professional Gastroenterology Organizations Design Safe Surgery Checklist for ASCs

The American Gastroenterological Association, American College of Gastroenterology and American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy have designed a gastroenterology safe surgery checklist for ambulatory surgery centers.

The checklist is described as a “safety and quality measurement tool to be utilized by ambulatory surgical centers providing gastroenterology services.”

 

The two-page checklist, which is free and available here, is intended to serve as template. The organizations encourage ASCs to ensure they meet all federal, state and local safety measures and follow them for each individual patient.
