Pennsylvania hospital expands surgical, GI services — 4 insights

Monroeville, Pa.-based Forbes Hospital opened a $17 million addition to expand its surgical, gastrointestinal and cardiac services, TribLive reports.

What you should know:

1. Forbes recently opened its perioperative center, which houses a post-acute care unit, an electrophysiology lab and a GI suite.

2. The addition compliments other work Forbes has completed on its Monroeville campus.

3. The GI suite will offer access to several advanced diagnostic procedures. The suite features a recovery area and 21 patient bays.

4. Forbes also recently expanded and renovated its ASC to accommodate growing outpatient surgical demand.
