U.S. News & World Report has announced the top 25 global universities for gastroenterology and hepatology in 2023, with the University of California San Diego topping the list for the second year in a row. 

Gastroenterology medtech company Iterative Health has been named one of the top 150 most promising digital health startups in the world for 2022 by software platform CB Insights. 

Hau Liu, MD, has been selected as the chief medical officer for Vivante Health, a digital health company focusing on digestive health and disease. Dr. Liu joins Vivante with more than two decades of experience.

Eight gastroenterology companies made a name for themselves in the market in 2022, and are promising new developments and expansions in 2023. 

Gastroenterologists earned $453,000 on average during 2022, with compensation fluctuating based on practice setting and length of employment.

From New Jersey to Ohio, here are three new GI centers that were proposed or opened in November. 

Sonja Olsen, MD, a gastroenterology and hepatology specialist, has left New York City-based NYU Langone Health to join the Tampa (Fla.) General Hospital Gastro Group of the Palm Beaches.
