The American Society for Gastroenterology and Endoscopy has launched an artificial intelligence institute for gastroenterology. 

Undergoing an upper GI endoscopy in the U.S. will cost patients an average of $1,109 in the ASC setting, according to data from Sidecar Health. The majority of the procedure's cost goes toward facility fees.

Medtronic's single-use capsule endoscopy system has been approved by the FDA.

Four of the five best health systems for gastroenterology in 2024 are located in New York, according to a ranking by Castle Connolly.

New York City-based Gastroenterology Associates of Brooklyn has cut the ribbon on a new facility in Brooklyn. 

The Illinois Senate has unanimously passed a bill that will require insurance companies in the state to cover all colonoscopies deemed medically necessary.
